That was great! I never understood how jet engines worked. Now it’s clear how they generate so much propulsion and why they are so expensive. Great learning tool.

That's really elaborate and nicely made .
Pretty neat engine. The temperature is always controlled in the combustion chamber and cannot exceed the 2000 degrees Celsius. At 3000 degrees Celsius, the turbine blades will be destroyed.
I was going to make the tired joke about "a turbofan for ants" but then I realized at 1:20 ratio that would mean the ants would be about 9 cm long and I weirded myself out. (Bah, KZread, that's not a timestamp!)
I always learn the weirdest fun fact trivia from you.
This was cool to watch you put together and was so interesting to listen to the explanation. Love your videos!

Does anybody else resent being given a QR code instead of an instruction manual..? Interesting video, though Mr P!

Yes, although even though I'm going on 65 this year I do find myself using the zoom gesture to enlarge pictures on a paper instruction manual! 😅

I prefer physical instructions too, I’d rather not have to get my phone/tablet out when I’m building something else.

That's a very good question. It makes so much sense to _not_ have a physical manual. But there are plenty of people who don't/can't/don't want to have access to the Internet. Yup; even today there are people with no Internet. Blimey. Just think about that. Most of my paper manuals for stuff just end up as waste. Or draw-filler. Mostly unread. But you can't assume that everyone has the choice to 'opt out' of printed manuals. Maybe what's needed is a global, universal body which monitors who can work offline and who can't? And I can't see that being more complicated or efficient or environmentally friendly than simply shipping physical manuals to people. 🤔
I get so giddy, when my wittle buddy comes out with another puzzling puzzle.

Interesting, but i appreciate your puzzle solving more.
This is an impressive building set, but- in my opinion- it's a bit too pricey. Very interesting video by the way.

Very pricey for a 3D printed kit, does look cool.
Roughly $250 USD. Not cheap, but cool if you like this kind of thing. I'd like to put it on the back of my bike and see how much faster I can go with it.

250$ for a cheap looking 3d printed model is insane. If the parts were diecast that would be one thing but this thing will probably break if you look at it wrong in a couple of years

For $250 you can buy your own 3D printer and make a jet engine model for free.

Perhaps even full size Chinese jet engines are 3-D printed.

That’s a lot of money for something 3D printed, that motor looks like one I have in a robot, N10 or N20 and they’re very cheap. It looks cool but the rough surface may have been the side on the printing bed.
The assembly lacks a nozzle downstram of the turbine; you need that to generate threust
It looks like you have the gold turbine rotor installed backwards
I thoughts the fans went in opposite directions every other fan. But idk. Cool item tho
Reminds me of the movie the Manhattan Project.
I thought it can really fly with a model airplane.

I will add it to the description this evening
Combistion chambers are made from titanium alloys. They are air cooled using part of the air from the HP compressor. Various ports in the flame chamber wall allow some of this air to flow in maintaining the flame shape and provide the cooling. Having a brittle substance like ceramic inside a jet engine is never a good idea 😊 Great video as always, love ot when you cover these types of model
@Mr.Puzzle
Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the clarification. It was not my idea of curse but I read somewhere that combustion chambers in jet engines can be coated with a thin ceramic layer to increase heat resistance. Hiwever it's just impressive if you consider how reliable these engines are, that everything is glowing deep red during operation for hours without the material aging too much.
Remind me of Jake Gyllenhaal
Jet gun
The electronic music was a bit unfitting for the video, but otherwise pretty interesting!
frankly, this printed parts looks cheap as heck thanks for showing but no thanks i'll stay at piececool or microworld 3d models :)

Compared to what? Any similar models under a couple hundred appear to be poorly manufactured, flimsy, oversimplified for children, or all of the above. $250 for a decent model engine is honestly an impressive deal if it’s as good as it appears.
