    My first PC was back in 2004 actually a Pentium IV 3.8ghz and a ATI 9600XT, the GPU cost me even less than 100€ and could play almost everything maxed out back then (probably 1/4th of a month of salary back then which now a good GPU is one full month of salary here something like a RTX4070 while the 4070TI is quite a lot more than a full month of salary😵🖕). But I luckily always had PC to play since I was still kinda a baby cause my father had a Pentium 1 and I remember playing on it with 3 years old and the crap MS-DOS and later a Pentium II...

    Back in 2008 my brother had a Sabertooth 990fx mobo, GeForce (remember when that was the shit lol) 8800gt, 8150 be cpu (scandalous), Corsair case, 16gb DDR3 and I drooled over that heap of crap. Watching him play WoW on it with his massive 27 inch flat screen was the greatest thing I had ever seen. To this day that pc sits under my desk just because. He saved for 7 months to build it. I had to sit next to him on his hand me down sempron scorpion pre build pc lol. I have never felt like that again about a pc and I ran it until 2018 after getting it from him in 2014. Of course I grew up and upgraded to real life modern day good kit but no pc has ever made such an impression on me. Watching this made me turn the damn thing on and as soon as windows xp flashed up, it had to go back off. Good times

    @malcolmmacdonald35975 ай бұрын

    The performance of Dead Space is actually very impressive with the GTX 280. It looks like it uses all 4 CPU cores fairly well, too. You could definitely bump up the resolution, as the game requires a 60fps cap in order to avoid physics glitches and you're already getting over 100fps. Dead Space is a game that has aged very gracefully and is so well optimized- despite a few technical issues on PC.

    I was surprised the CPU that's not designed for the socket works when you cut into the board in order for it to fit! Many of us will have watched in horror when you cut off the tags on the motherboard, then everything powers up! You could try changing a tower into an RGB with acrylic instead of glass, painting the interior black, then add some lights.

    Maybe that's why the PC platform wasn't as popular, I'm pretty sure it's for various reasons though, I decided to have the will to switch to PC because the controller hurt my palms on the xbox + hand-fatigue, then I remember a few years ago a school I went to gave me a free chromebook, it was way more comfortable to play on than any other platform, but the gaming experience was not really superb so to speak.

    The moral of the story: 1. buy modern high end second hand components. I mean from our age. It will give you access to the most modern technology for a fraction of the price and it will also postpone your next upgrade call. 2. Learn how to use the full potential of your computer for other stuff besides gaming. It will keep you away from the consumerism hype that the corporations are putting you in through gaming. + it will develop you further and might finally find a spot where you will really need an upgrade. The sense of satisfaction the then is outstanding. I personally use a Dl380 g6 with 2x X5690, 128gb DDR3, one M2000, one K2200. It is a Solidworks Beast for the cheap,while also holding openproject and nextcloud opened to the internet and done Linux machines

    I built my first legitimate pc for my own money three days ago, the sight of you modifying the cpu socket with a rusty wallpaper knife was one of the most uncomfortable things I ever saw. Great video nonetheless.

    I have done same last year, Asus P5q3, core 2 quad q9650, Kingston 4x1GB ddr 3 1800, GTX 285 BFG 2GB, gt 9600 rog (for physics) , 4x 500 GB HDD RAID 10, and some old atx chase. But I used new gold PSU, I don't want to burn any of this stuff
