    Hi everyone, this is a fantastic guide that you can use for your swing. Some coaches would charge you $100’s for this but I’m giving it to you for free. In return please subscribe to the channel to help support videos like this 😁

    What an INCREDIBLE video! You touched on so many aspects of the swing that I've tinkered with over 20 yrs of golfing, and never really understood the variations or the principles behind them or the proper way to link them together for a complete swing. Now I've got to figure out how to tackle, or sequence, the different components into my practice at the range (because I know I can't remember, or tackle them all right from the start). You've got me hooked on your channel now - Thanks again!

    For some reason, I find it easy to hook the ball by doing the ball about a ball back(due to a tree in the way or a strong left to right wind par 3), but always was paranoid to doing it more often and it becoming the miss (duck hook). These days, I have been dropping the right foot back to get more rotation (I'm 56) on drives more lately, which has gotten a slight draw.

  • @Gilesgillgolf

    Moving the ball too far back can create that hook pattern so everything is about moderation & control

    I think it’s worth mentioning that when hitting draws or fades it is necessary to consciously aim inside of center on the ball (for draw) and outside of center (for fade) relative to the straight ball-target line. That might seem obvious but I find that most beginners consciously aim dead center + out of habit of trying to do that when hitting straight shots. There is a lot of subconscious reflexive hand eye coordination in a golf swing so if one’s concept of how it works is to whack the ball dead center + the brain will subconsciously try to steer it there. But if the aim point is a two or three dimples inside of center >+ you’ll be amazed how ‘reflexive’ hitting nice draws will become. 😊

    Another great video Giles. How do you feel about a trigger move to start the swing? I like to start my swing by moving pressure to my forward foot, immediately followed by moving pressure to my trail side which gets the club moving. This trigger helps promote my pressures to flow back to the forward side during transition. I think moving pressure in this fashion allows a more dynamic and athletic swing, which helps set up a powerful impact position. I believe I see this pressure shift in Rory and Stenson's swings. Your thoughts?

  • @Gilesgillgolf

    @Gilesgillgolf

    6 ай бұрын

    Swing triggers are key but you have to pick your trigger to help boost your technique. The knee kick in is better for most amateurs

    Thanks Giles, a really comprehensive guide to the complete swing. One thing I am a little confused with is the start of the downswing - after putting pressure on your lead foot does your upper body pull your arms down, or do the arms work independently, or is it a simultaneous process?

    If one uses a stronger grip and a bit of shaft lean, don't we run the risk of launching the ball too low thus decreasing peak height and descent angle?
