It's in quite a few of my videos and it was sold as the owner is on deployment.

There is nothing to fully lock the smart-lock diff. It uses friction plates only, there is not physical locking pin or gear engagement - they will slip.

It has a locking pin that holds a gear on the side of the diff. Then it applies 3000lb lb of pressure to lock diff. If it works it works to me. I put it on 3 wheels all the time.

@@ProjectAjax blown budget Offroad has a good video of a) a wheel stopping when in diff-lock and b) the subsequent tear down of the diff thinking it was broke only to find the only "locking" devices are a set of friction plates. Anything that advertises shift on the fly diff lock has no true mechanical lock up. You cannot engage mechanical lock while moving. This is far better than their visco crap but it is not a mechanically locked diff. It will slip.

@@thegrayhillbilly I will look more into it but the actuator that moves the pin into the gear I believed to cause it to lock. If subsequent use and abuse happens where the friction plates where down over time and allow slippage than I understand what you are saying. I thought the clutch plates and the fully locked feature was two seperate occurrences in the diff.

@@ProjectAjax tear down is about the 16 min mark. It bothers me that they try to sell a friction system as a locker. It may be a great diff but when I hear locker it should be locked as good as a spool. kzread.info/dash/bejne/eKKfpsSYk7u0Y6w.html
