    I agree with everyone comments here, I enjoy how smooth your transitions are, and the small fills that add so much with out sounding too busy. To me your Bass sounds Passive with Flat wounds. I'm just curious of your sound if you want to share what makes up your sound on this song. Thanks Again for what you Share with us and the inspiration you give us to play with our groups :)

    To God be the glory. I really appreciate the kind words. Yes, the bass is passive. We put in a pair of Dimarzio Area J jazz bass pickups. The strings I am using are as follows: DunlopMarcus Miller Super Bright Bass Strings - Medium 4/Set

    @@esongsore do you play with a 5 string much?

  • @esongsore

    @esongsore

    @@dads557349 No I play my 4 string more often. I have a 5 and used to have a 6 which I sold years ago. Part of the reason why I love the 4 string is because if its light weight...and it is really sufficient for every CCM song I have come across. I only use the 5 string when I play gospel songs that require the low B string. If I could keep just one bass, it would probably be this 4 string. If you are thinking of making a purchase, try them out and go with what feels good.

    Whenever you improvise, what is it built on? Ex: scales, arpeggios, or combination of progression.

    This is a difficult one to answer. Technically, I can't tell you what I am doing. I often like to think my approach to music is a result of my exposure to different styles of music. I started out singing tenor in a catholic choir and playing percussion, then playing pipe organ by ear, then playing mainstream Ghanaian and African worship music, then gospel music and then finally contemporary christian music like this one. I just started reading chords on sheet music a few years ago, and that is as much musical knowledge as I have. The only exercise I do on bass is chromatic exercises, which I saw a guy doing years ago. I spend most of my time experimenting till I hear something good....and I listen to music for at least 2 hours a day. I am not sure my responses really helps. However, I hope it provides some insight. I think a lot of people learn a few styles of music, and that limits them tremendously. We can always find christian music in different styles...and I think embracing variation really opens our ears and makes us more versatile.

    Hello Emmanuel. I love listening to the way you play but find it difficult to follow the fills. can you please add a bass tab for each song. it will make it easier to follow and copy. Thanks again.

    Unfortunately I don't know how to read tabs or write them. I am hoping to learn eventually, but I cant promise. I hope you can still pick some nuggets from the videos. GOD bless you.

    @@esongsore Hello Emmanuel. The Bass Tabs would basically be each chord u use when playing the song. that would be the structural chords as well as the fills. If you google bass tabs for any song u will see how its done.
