Build a Garden Arbor with Bent Metal Tube
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In this DIY video, we replace our cedar garden rose arch and build a larger, sturdier arbor. The replacement is built with 1 ⅜” chain link fence rail, bent to shape, and dug down by over 3 feet to resist the wind and weight of climbing roses.
Best view of the finished arbor is at 26:53
Materials before cutting/bending at 1:50
Bending the arch at 7:44
Planning/prepping the garden at 11:15
Flattening the tube ends to make tabs at 17:20
Assembly of arches at 22:04

Nice project to go beyond the limited, off-the-shelf arbor options. Great ingenuity using simple materials. Thanks for sharing the entire process.
So nice to see a young man who knows his way around the garden.
A man with many talents. I am impressed again! 06.07.24
Very smart! I knew I’d find someone with a great diy for this. Thank you!
Good Job, you have given me some ideas for some small greenhouses. Thanks.
Great content!!! Thank you for sharing. I will try to build one for my climbing roses:)
What a beautiful view of mountains you have!

Wow! Terrific 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
19:25 I think there a little hole punchers to punch a gide hole for the drill.
Very smart 🎉
Nice job but is hard work 👍
Will they rust? That's normally what happens with the bought arches. Good job 👍

Not so far - and it's been a few years. I'll have a look at the paint again this year, but so far so good.
Clever...really clever...u clould.sell those...easily.
I tried using some black coated metal to trellis some roses and it heated up so much in the summer sun that the rose stem burned through on that spot where it touched. :(

Thanks for the warning... I'll have to look out for damage!
I need something like this but will not be able to do what you did here for bending. Will go with the pipes, like your idea of painting the pipes black. What did you use for paint?

Very well. May need some repainting soon, but the structure is solid
Jason do you have any experience with roses on cattle panel arches that are all the rage in the vegetable gardening community? Trying to decide if they are strong enough for roses … if you have tried was hoping to learn from your experience.

Sorry, I haven't tried with cattle panels.
I want a follow-up picture, four years later!

Hi Fraser very impressive video, have you had any construction experience before? Your improvisation is very good considering I’d only imagine this been done on a conduit bending machine. Great job.
Her arbor was outrageously expensive she said
