My dad taught me everything I know about building. He passed away very suddenly 3 weeks ago. As I was going thru his tablet, I noticed this was the last video he watched. If you are good enough for him, you have made the cut for me. Thanks.

"Better known as a butt joint" with a smile and a pause.
I love the way he talks. It sounds like a TV exec kept telling him he didn't sound "happy friendly" enough and he was like, "i don't know how to sound any friendlier." And the exec was like, "More HAPPY FRIENDLY!!!!" and then he put on this voice to mock the TV exec thinking he would hate it, but the TV exec actually loved it. Great Video. Informative!

Yeah it is - like Gepetto from Pinocchio!!!
At approximately 1:50, he's marking shelves and says "less room for errors", then puts out a forced smile, and I keep picturing a star twinkling from his grin (p-ting " twinkle sound") Peeing my pants laughing. Fun video..

Basic inexpensive tools. Fantastic outcomes. True carpenter!!!
Nice bookshelf. Clear instructions in your video as well. I wish there was a rundown of the materials and tools needed in order to build this, and the approximate cost of the one you built here. It truly helps me when they have that so that I know if I can do it with the tools and supplies on hand.

Hi Eddie, when you put the crown moulding on did you use a backer for support?
@EddieRinier
7 жыл бұрын
Hi- thanks for watching - no I didn't use a backer board. The bottom of the crown molding has enough wood to just nail it in by itself. When you nail the front and side pieces together it creates a corner that supports itself. Hope this helps and please subscribe.

Thank you for the video. I liked your positive approach. I have a few questions. Other than the drill and circular saw, what is the electric tool you use? Is it called a planer? Also, how wide are your shelves? Thank you.

I think you mean the router. I'm not sure about his use of "routering" instead of "routing" but that might be part of the character :)

how thick are your sides? are they the same thickness as shelves?

I didn`t plan to use this woodworking book, “pepe amazing plan” (Google it) but rather curious about it. I had been really amazed after trying it. It never dissatisfied me in my desire to get more information about the art of woodworking. I found several topics such as wood types and designing your workshop.
I built a 5 shelf bookcase using 3/4" poplar wood with a plywood backing approximately 6' high by 3' wide by 9 in depth. The bookcase will easily wobble forward and backwards. All sides seem level, could you help me make this not wobble without hanging to the wall? thank you
@dropndeal

For safety, all six-foot bookcases should be secured to the wall to prevent crushing. 9” is not very deep, hence the teetering.
