    Love your videos Wes. Just a suggestion but there is some distortion in the audio. Might want to check your levels and lower the gain. Somewhere in the chain the audio has to much gain and is distorting. Not bad just thought you might want to be aware.

    Hi Wes, love your woodworking videos!, and wanted to make a quick mention regarding the audio quality as for whatever reason when you speak the sound quality is not crisp, but rather there's echo or may be better described differently, however it's not great - are you using a microphone? or?? Anyway, thought you'd like to know the sound could really be improved. Trying to help, thanks again for the great instruction.

If you're open to some feedback, the audio could use some improvement and the editing, especially towards the end of the video, is difficult to watch. Your wood, rental wide belt, finish material , glue, nails, and your time. $200 ? That comes out to about 25 cents an hour Wes? I built a few of these including a Cube shaped one 42” tall to fit in a living room corner! It’s a med difficult job given panel glue ups router work and cutting out the trim then laying it out to fit correctly! Every bit of a $1000 job in hard wood! Ply wood maybe $5/600 bucks.

  • @MemphisCorollaS

    @MemphisCorollaS

    I was wondering about the $200 claim too in 2023-2024. I assumed that he meant this for someone to build for themselves and not for selling thus removing the labor cost. The 4/4-5/4 red oak stock, oak veneered cabinet grade plywood, and hardware would be well over that even if he made the moulding himself from the same red oak stock. I’ll assume that glue, fasteners, and stain were assumed to be on hand already in any ship equipped to do this build already. Let’s say the cabinet shop belt sand rental time wasn’t included as he gave other alternatives people could use with it just being for speed & convenience for him. With all of those allowances, I don’t see this being less than $400 or more cost when this video is coming out. While this isn’t one of the videos that calls all of the wood and shows nothing but Festool and SawStop tools with ducted dust collection everywhere, it does seem to take some generous creative liberties for the title and claims. The suspension of disbelief has to be strong. The end product is very nice and reasonable with realistic levels of skill, equipment, and experience.

    @@MemphisCorollaS well Said where I am I figured with material and labor I just can not let that go for less than $1200. I am in Northern Calif ., North of Sacramento ! I can drive 30-45 min and source all the materials & build it within a couple day? So given the 15% for carrying material 16 hours min of labor @ $70 and hour clearly a $1200 item. Of course some things you can do to min costs but not much! I am a pro finish carpenter/cabinet maker (not full kitchens I am not 100% just cabinets so I stay away from full build out kitchens). Anyway Wes was blowing a little smoke there but he is pushing for views from the naive in this area! As my friend stated who is a tradesman “some know? Some don’t “!
