= UPDATE 2022 = It turns out, now we have more lines than just the lovers' thanks to the new update! Praise the devs! I guess I should do something about it. It's been forever, thank you so much for your continued support. - ORIGINAL: First off, thank you for your time. Your support has been incredible and I love this game's community with all my heart. There is a little note I'd like to make. A lot of people are asking whether or not there is more dialogue for everyone else's deaths. The simple answer is: Not quite. These are special lines that are reserved for the couples in the game. They happen at the beach at the very end of the game, when you press the talk button for the grumpus whose partner died. No other circumstances will prompt different dialogue for the end. I imagine it would have been too complicated to make every single scenario. However, it's worth noting that when the grumpus someone is paired up with at the final battle dies, they do make an exclamation of some kind. The delivery for Wambus’ lines were top notch emotionally. Whoever his VA was is very good at Incapsulating a gritty salt of the earth southerner guy right down to to even the tragic loss of the one person he cared about.

To be fair they do seem shaken up when the other dies, yeah even Floofty. They merely disliked eachother, not full on hated to death. It’s hard to not be sad/disturbed when watching someone in front of you die gruesomely.

I have a small theory about gramble. As you see here when wiggle dies he says “I finally had someone who cared about me” making me feel like he was neglected by his parents. Another piece of evidence is when your interviewing him and ask him about his family he dosent seem to want to talk about it

Unrelated, but also theory-ish ? I'm pretty sure Cromdo is a dad and was stuck in a deadend job, possibly for his family's sake which ended up with him having a midlife crisis leading him to wind up on snaktooth island. Based on how old he looks/sounds, the "no.1 dad" tie on the wall of his house and what it says when you scan it.

I wont let the Grumpuses ever say these lines in any of my Playthroughs ever. They are such interesing characters.

In my opinion it's so much worse when there are uneven deaths than when everyone straight-up dies, because then it's just you and Filbo. Having everyone die is bad enough, but having to let specific ones die was probably the hardest part for me. Felt really wrong!

I'm going to be in for a rude awakening if these character deaths are tied to specific achievements. (context: I'm a completionist that tries to get all achievements)

dear god a game for 7-year-olds has one of the most soul-crushing bad endings out there

God, the voice acting's really on point. It sells the emotions going through the characters perfectly. ESPECIALLY Snorpy and Chandlo, like dear lord. That "I'm going to *crush* them" is so out of character for both of them and it really sells what losing someone close to you can do to a guy.

Chandlo and snorpy s threat to the grumpinati really differ, as if in chandlo s was more enraged, as he was blind by sorrow, but snorpy was, he seemed more determined

dont forget you need to actively avoid the side quests. which can be mildly annoying because they give quite obvious indicators to do them. so basicly you need to TRY for this ending.

It is not difficult but it _does_ depend on how proficient you are with using the tools given. For example: Trip Drone: Chandlo provides multiple targets. Fire the line it horizontally and it will take out all 3 Snax simultaneously, but fire it diagonally and a Snak will make it through to either Chandlo or Snorpy because the line disintegrates after the first Snak touches it. Launchpad: If you hit the button too soon Cromdo won't be able to load the next barrel, forcing you to wait (slightly) longer. And target-locking onto a fast-moving Snax always carries some risk of them moving out of the way before the shot reaches them.

@@Balloons250 That is correct! In the reverse, it is possible to not try to defend them at all but if you did their sidequests they'll be okay! You cannot get a bad ending on a completely good save file where you did all the sidequests for that reason.

@@cleoe1343 Fight well enough and you can actually still save them. Theoretically you could still get a good ending without doing sidequests, but it would be *much* harder to consistently ace every single fight. Sidequests determine whether or not they're vulnerable to attacks, but they don't _have_ to die. It's just a punishment or reward system for seeing all the game has to offer and caring enough about all the companions, I suppose.

obviously every scenario is impossible, but i think maybe floofty and snorpy's relationship would have been interesting to touch on. a snorpy line (provided chandlo survives, that relationship is more important to him) if floofty dies, talking about how their hubris got the better of them, or a floofty line if snorpy dies about how they wished they could have made things better between them sooner. just a touch like that.

According to a writer (I found out recently), they only didn't add these because of time constraints. The beach lines were the last to be added into the game so they wanted to keep it simple, I suppose. But yeah, I completely agree. It's a shame they're not in the game.

Oh these ALL made me cry. I'm such a sap for when one half of a pair dies. Hurts me real bad. And all 3 couples were really well fleshed out.

I feel like Shelda's reaction to Floofty's death is at least noteworthy. "And so, our doom came. But what did I really do to stop it? I spoke loudly, yes, but I made the speaker more important than the message! Despite our bickering, I know the world is a poorer place... without Floofty... They had the potential to do so much good... So I'll have to do good in their place. No more cryptic riddles! No divine shroud! Just me. I think they'd appreciate that..."

That's a _really_ cool line. Back when I made this, the only lines we had were the ones for the lovers, hence why the video is what it is. (The devs wanted to add more, but didn't have time to do more than the couples' because this idea came about very late into development. I just found out that this was added in an update and I'm still really surprised... Good going, devs!)

I didn't know any of the grumpuses could die until I got the trophy for not losing any grumpus and put two and two together. I'm glad I didn't have to experience it. My nieces and I wouldn't have taken it well at all

This is why bugsnax has such good voice acting. You can tell how much effort they put into making the emotions real.

I really like how all three couples share mentalities, just to add that little bit of extra depth to their chemistry.

Always wanted someone to upload every single voice clip they can get in the final section of the game. And now i feel satisfied... Sad, depressed, upset and just gut-wrenching. Thank you so much for sharing this. My deepest condolences to Chandlo and Snorpy(well if you let them die in game, of course).

Gramble's line was heartrending to me, not just because he's my favorite Grumpus. He's the most emotionally vulnerable character of the bunch, and he saw the people who cared about him the most die in front of him, all thanks to the little creatures he cherished swarming her. He sounds so angry when he says that he won't give love to things that don't deserve it, as if he feels utterly betrayed by the Bugsnax. Poor guy...

Teared up hearing those lines... Bugsnax knows how to pull at the heartstrings.

I would have never EVER. Expected that voice lines would make me cry so much😭

I've finished the game ages ago and it was probably the best game I've ever played I got plat trophy and watching this vid makes me wanna go back to the game in my first play through snorpy died cause I didn't know what to do sad times :(

Since I ever saw gramble, I really wanted that hat from him. It was so adorable!!

At first I thought they were brothers. x,D It actually took me advancing a bit in the story to be like "Oh!" **Facepalm** -To be fair, I think people forget that affection in friendships is very similar to romantic love when you really get down to it, so the line can be a bit hard to see sometimes-

*[SPOILERS]* If you find the Triplicate Space and solve every puzzle to release Capucceetle, you're told by Alegander Jamfoot and Clumby Clumbernut that you're technically a member of the Snakolytes now because you know too much, which is the organisation that Snorpy might be mistaking for the Grumpinati. So, in a way, Chandlo/Snorpy blame *you* for the death of their lover
