Bugs Bunny for Kool-Aid, "Doin' the Kool"
Музыка
Bugs and a group of kids at a go-go that serves Kool-Aid!!
A few months back, I was happy to send Ms. Julie Rose (the curly-haired girl doing 'The Jerk' at the end of the commercial) a copy of her very first acting commercial. She said that Bugs was a pleasure to work with...

Seeing this in the late sixties on its original broadcast was kind of nice, seeing it again almost fifty years later is remarkable. So much of the materiel from that era was done on celluloid with a very limited shelf life. Much of what was broadcast then is lost. The children are very well choreographed and placed through training to look this good. This was my generation.
Wow, I had no idea that Bugs could groove like that - you go Bugs!!
This was produced in 1966, and seen during Saturday morning repeats of "THE BUGS BUNNY SHOW" on ABC; General Foods [Kool-Aid] was the original sponsor of the prime-time series (1960-'62), and they continued to sustain the Saturday repeats, with Bugs appearing in commercials for their various products {during the night-time run, he [and most of his "gang"] pitched Post cereals and Tang- by the mid-'60s, it was Kool-Aid}.
The girl at the table near end of video in blonde pigtails drinking koolaid, and looking at the camera is Cindy Ennen. We were in 6th grade in 1966 at Jane Adams elementary school in Long Beach Ca. when a talent scout stopped by and selected her for this commercial. Wonder what happened to her, that was long ago, and we are both now at about 67. Yes, the commercial was forward thinking at the time and was including younger kids into the mid/late sixties go-go music scene in a family friendly way in a soft drink commercial, as bazarre as this looks today. The girl on the elevated platform dancing really has the go-go style dancing nailed down quite well, nice foot work.
I remember watching this commercial a lot on TV during the fall and winter season of 1966 and '67, especially during the week of Super Bowl I.
I remember my first go go rave with bugs. It was off the hook!
hey.....anything that Bugs plugs is Kool!!!......
One of the best commercials I've ever seen
This commercial WAS originally done in color; I have a copy on VHS tape in color. This was inspired mainly by the music show "Hullabaloo". That show usually ended with a live music segment in a set that looked like this, with a blinking-light sign reading "Hullabaloo A Go-Go" flanked by two go-go cages. I believe, however, that this commercial came out a year or two after "Hullabaloo" had already gone off the air.
Doing the Kool-Aid Kool!!! It really & truly rules!!! I think.
You see this is has been inspired by the Animaniacs episode, "Back in Style," where the Looney Tunes characters have been out of jobs when Warner Bros. had to close down their animation company forever meaning that the only gig they had left was to appear in a powered drink commercial, and Mr. Plotz had to use Yakko, Wakko and Dot for loanout deals into limited television animation studios until he had enough money to keep the studio afloat.
You know, this is referenced in the Animaniacs episode, "Back in Style," when Warner Bros. had to shut down the animation department, and Thaddeus Plotz had to use Yakko, Wakko and Dot for loanout deals.
Thank you for posting fond memory. Even though television was a booming crucible of art at the time, this ad was sort of unique.
Bloody Heck -- I *remember* this advert from way back when...Mebbe cause'a th' catchy jingle with th' American bandstand/Shindig/Hullabaloo-style riffs, yes? And, yes, Tex Avery *did* direct bugs in these telly ads in the 60's...a kinda "reunion" of sorts..after Leon Sclesinger had shown Avery the door some time prior.. Thanx fer this'n, m8..
Willy Wonka stole that "scrumdiddly-umptious" line, I see.
A lot of these comments are really informative. I've been trying hard to research these commercials, so thank you to everyone who has given historical details here.

Post your color copy!! I have another copy that may have been in color, but it's so washed-out (it's red-orange-ish), so I posted the black and white version I had...
that was... um, perhaps weird. (referring to the dancing)

Sadly by this point Avery was done with theatrical animation and mostly did commercials. He'd been burned by three studios at this point: Warner Bros, MGM, and Universal
BUGS BUNNY SHOW MY FARIVOE SHOW
Tex Avery was back to directing Warner characters in the sixties?
I like when he eats the carrot 0:02
And doing the kool.
Oh my fruit are you dance?
What? Isnt there pre-sweetend Kool Aid today?
...What happened to you, man? You were the Mouse's greatest threat, vying for the attention of so many children. Especially during his disappearance from the limelight through the Disney Renaissance....And *NOW* look at you. After Mel Blanc bought the farm and the Loonatics debacle, you're a shell of your former self! Here's to hoping the upcoming series brings you back to Zero...You need it.

For whatever jerk thumbed that comment down, please be INTELLIGENT and look at what came first: THIS commercial was way before the movie Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, where Willy Wonka makes "Scrumdiddly-umtious Bars."

It depends on if the original book that the movie was adapted from used the line. The original book was published a bit before this commercial.
Bailaban re feo el a go go, parece que estaban poseídos satanicamente 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

@GamingPalooza It was the '60s, Heck even Batman was dancing on tv. UGH! I'm glad I was born in the '80s. We didn't have any tacky clothes, hair styles, or music... right?
....and the boy with the loud plaid checkered pants, blond hair, and white 'tennie's appears a bit over amped up, probably downed too much 'aid between shooting retakes. Nowadays parents and kids hafta watch out for those awful and overpriced energy/bull drinks that can be dangerous and send kids to bed really over revved up, LOL!!
the NO ADDING SUGER ADDING THING was a total rip off...
