Have you seen insects or mushrooms in your garden, and wondered if it's time to panic and get out the sprays? Well, in some instances, those bugs (and fungi) we see may be beneficial to the health of our garden ecosystems. Not all garden visitors are bad--in moderation.
We'll talk about when it's time to step in and intervene, if needed, and we'll discuss what happens when we wait and let nature take its course.
Be sure to visit our Instagram page for more photos of what's happening week by week @gardening.keeps.me.grounded
And, if you are local to the San Diego area, stop by our shop for a visit! See www.nclawnmower.com for hours and directions.
We also have another channel @fischertoolandgarden where Tom gives you tips on maintaining and repairing your outdoor power equipment....and more!

I have seen a trend where people add mushroom spawn into their mulch pathways. I really like that idea, but is there any potential drawback?

I'm not sure if this would cause any issues, but my feeling is that it would only encourage soil microbiology, not do any harm.
Yeah I just woke up and found mushrooms in the soil. No mulch, I am in so cal but they are in my raised bed

With all of the continued moisture we've been getting, that's not surprising. I'm sure your soil will be just fine!

Luckily I've only run into a few--nothing major.
