Matisyahu took notice of Bugoy's cover on the Wish Bus that he invited him to perform with him in his concerts in the US a few years ago! Singing is like breathing for the Filipinos. It's so ingrained in our daily life we cannot separate it from our identity or our culture - whether we can (individually) sing or not. Most of the Filipino singers in the Philippines do not have formal voice training/lessons; some use unconventional techniques to practice singing. Singing is pretty much like dancing in Venezuela.

@@HofTheStage most singers you reacted started with no training at all.. they are mostly products of singing contest and winning it witout any training mostky because of poverty.. but yeah Filipinos love singing when we wake up, cooking, walking, riding, taking a bath. Most of them would be on birthdays, fiestas singing in kareoke.

Filipinos really love singing. Doesn't matter if one has a good voice or music backgrounds, Filipinos will sing whenever they want to sing. It's so integrated in our daily lives. Even doing simple chores, or taking a shower, we would then start a humming, then turn into beats, then turn into song. It's our way of keeping our minds busy or just entertaining ourselves. And yes, I do agree that we Filipinos are so addicted in karaokes/videokes!

This cover, I like it very much, I heard some singing it but I was not moved, watching this one, I was touched by the way he sang it, it is full of emotion.

Filipinos don't have secrets to have such voice its all coming from perseverance and love of music. As I was growing up on daily basis I always see my mom singing her voice isn't that high but she has a soft and sweet voice. As she sing I always try to sing with her, she annoyingly stop me 😅😅 because I really didn't know how to sing but I learn without her complete knowledge I badly just did what I want. Then now I had here way of singing tho she's already gone but people says I had here voice. I'm saying this based on experience for me Filipino are just passionate, hardworking and love singing. Its the willingness what drives even without practice or any related to vocal learning. I'm commenting just so you know more bout Filipino singing and talent where it coming from. To all reactors I know so far you were the best Sir, I'm learning from your videos seriously and so professional. Its my honest comment.
