Bugeye Sprite number #1... from barnfind to Concours prize! AN5L/ 501's journey to Audrain Concours!

AN5L 501 is the first production Bugeye Sprite and one of the most historically significant Bugeye Sprites in the world. At Bugeyeguys, we had the pleasure of restoring this car to the exact original factory specs and we re restored this car with all the correct hardware and fittings so that it is identical to the day it left the factory floor in March of 1958.
Our work was Concours-gold metal certified after four hours of judging by four Healey experts at the 2022 Austin Healey Club of America Enclave, and in this video, you can follow our quest for an award at the Audrain Concours d'Elegance in Newport, Rhode Island in October of 2023.
At Bugeyeguys, we specialize in restomod Classic cars, and we also build and restore classic cars to concours standards. Furthermore, we have the largest Sprite-specific parts catalog in the world.

A friend in highschool had a Bug Eye, we had a lot of fun with that car. Most people don't understand the appeal of small bore sports cars.
I owned a later Sprite and have always loved the Bugeyes. What a beautiful car. You probably know that you're now its caretaker more than its owner - its a special car which will live on because of your wise and special treatment to it. Good job.

Thanks for sharing this adventure. Its really great having followed your channel for so long. I had numerous Mark 2 Sprites and am still on love with these cars. And to see "501" on the lawn at the Audrain certainly can't be beat!👍👍..Well Done!!💥💥
