One of the most essential parts of Mat’s job is to test the 0-60mph of any car he gets his hands on. As a result, that means each year he ends up launching a whole load of cars from 0-60mph and over the 1/4-mile.
So you know what that means? We’ve pulled them together into a single video for you to enjoy!

Where is Rimac Nevera?
The pure look of terror with that first run in the McMurtry was amazing. Dude definitely saw the Old Gods and the total expanse of the cosmos in those 8 seconds.
That McMurtry is just on another level of fast, but I wonder what the quarter mile would be with no speed limiter.

It's not artificially limited, it actually is only geared to that speed for it's runs at FoS. Hard to say what it would do, as the acceleration would be reduced with taller gearing, it'd certainly be faster though.

To be fair, we don't actually know if he is cursing. The words are censored so it will probably take a million years to decrypt the censoring and figure out what f*** and s*** actually mean.
It's actually insane what Porsche can do with a 6 cylinder, rear wheel drive car. Remember, it's N/A, it doesnt have that much torque! Crazy to me.

It's engineering perfection. That's 60 years of evolution that is.
The fact that the McMurtry hits the limiter about 1/4 to 1/3 into the 1/4 mile and still gets 7's blows my mind. I thought the Nevera was a whole new level, but this is just mindbogglingly bonkers!!
With the Spirling, "That hurt my head.....I am going to do it again!" got me chuckling.
What happened to the record breaking RIMAC run??? Awesome video as always Mat, big thanks to the team behind the scenes and all the people that let you rag their cars 😂 surely it can’t be long before you have a carwow TV show to rival the likes of fifth gear and top gear as you would definitely get the viewer numbers.

I would love to see Matt launch another parcel shelf.
Mat's face reacting to the Gs in the McMurtry, he was totally in shock or terror... call it whatever you want. Until a car appears that is able to replicate that reaction or cause an even more frightening experience, this will remain the highlight for a while.
That 7.97s was one of my favorite videos you've done and the look genuine of terror excitement on your face did it for me.
The McMurtry Speirling is a car from another world! It shows how much the automobile industry have developed!

They have to put a lot of effort into building a car (sometimes very weird, with crazy engines and so on) that accelerates better than a simple Porsche. The latter can be driven every day to go to work or to the theatre. Absolutely amazing! Thanks Mat!

Or an electric car like the model S plaid should do the trick as well. The slowest car in the vid was an EV and so is the two fastest cars.

I test drove a Model S P100D a few years ago (0-100kph in 2.4s) and trust me, you don't really want to be in a car that launches quicker than that. It's actually physically painful, like being hit from behind by a truck.

You obviously didn't pay attention at the start of the video. He said his favourite drag races in the last 12 months. The Rimac Nevera drag race against a Ferrari SF90 Stradale was over 20 months ago.
