Hi I have followed the videos of you, it is a very project and I give you the congratulations. I have a question, if I have a transmission box of a Beetle (Made in Brazil or Mexico), is it necessary to make any modifications to the gears of the gearbox? Or is it arrive and install the Kit Adapter? I ask you this, because in other videos of Brazil, the protagonist says that it changes the direction of the gears by the direction of rotation of the subaru engine. For me this is strange, since all the motors turn in the same direction (front or rear). Excellent tutorial. Regards from Chile A hug.

Great videos! Won't the old transmission self destruct with all that extra torque? Was fitting the subaru transmission not an option back in 2016?

Is that just a stock Bug pressure plate and clutch or did you go with something with more holding power?

Stock. Since it’s turbo it may have a better time due to turbo lag. I’m hoping it’ll save the transmission from any major shock loads - time will tell!

so the adapter plate is fron upfront engineering? because i cant find it on their website?

So you have to remove and return the parts you installed?

+Kevin Hornbuckle I do a ton of swaps so these clutch parts are scheduled for an early Bus now. No need to return.

Busaru yes there is many vans with Passat b5 gearbox and most them made by Russians u can check on KZread and Google fourme my self.I'm not good on mechanics so I can't understand the details

+Aboubaker Benbaha Very interesting! I don't think that's a very popular swap in the USA for some reason. I'm Assuming VW engine to Passat trans? I mostly deal with Subaru engines so I'm out of that world a little bit. You can flip the Subaru trans pretty easily though.

Busaru Subaru cars are not easy found in north Africa so think about Piece and yes he installed a Passat TDI with the gearbox and he flipped the way it turn and other video installed an ford v6 with renaut escpace gearbox and flipped the gearbox but I don't know how

+Aboubaker Benbaha People are doing a lot of interesting swaps for sure. I wish I could help you out more in regards to that equipment.

Just swap out the trans. Don't use the old style throwout bearing. They have the tendency to bind up the moment they start to wear. The new design is so much better. Then, you also don't have to wait for new parts to ship in, and you won't have to deal with the hassle of shipping your old parts back for what is ostensibly an inferior setup.

+draggonhedd I have a feeling I'll be swapping transmissions at some point anyway. Since I'm basically just roughing everything in I'll just be patient and work on other things while waiting for the other clutch assembly. This will be a good real world test to see how the old style holds up to Subaru power. Thanks for the guidance - I'll probably end up going that direction once/if this trans has issues.
