I owned this same unit in 1976. Worked great. I don't know what I did with it now. So I just ordered two as I am on 1 acre lot & will hang in separate locations. You won't go wrong with this instrument.

Need to keep it on 24-7 so that they will learn that spot it will still zap in the day time to.

It's awesome! Mine is in the yard near a lake zapping bugs like a arch welder vs a firecracker. All night kills an amazing amount of bugs. It is absolutely full some mornings but a simple rinse with the garden hose and it's clean like new. We place it away from the outdoor chairs at the corner of the house. Attracts bugs away from us and certainly kills them. Going strong several months now.

how is it with flies during the day. I just bought a Stinger 3n1 bug zapper and wasn't impressed. Seems like the vintage zappers from the 80s with the wire mesh on the outside worked wonders.

Its the 110 volt model, there are 220 volt models available for sale, the power circuit is pretty basic for the light and kill grid, so it might work just fine with a decent heavy duty step down transformer. Heavy duty as in metal construction and has enough cooling to handle running 24/7 with the loads.

The size of the light bulb is what draws most of the power, so that's probably their 15-watt bulb version.

Good tip! This was kind of a temporary deal, as I was too excited to start zapping. I was actually planning on siliconing the plastic casing to the cord and making it semi permanent.
