Hello, Thank you for the videos. Very informative. I'm Having the hardest time finding the flanges you mentioned that you purchased at Grizzly (1-1/4" inner hole). I am making one very almost identicle to the one you made but find myself at a bit stuck without these.

Ive seen buffers with sleck in the belt. Does yours have a little give when you push the guitar against the wheel? Yours looks great. With the help of this video, im hoping to build my own.
@trackie19574 жыл бұрын
Great video! If you use a longer belt you could have the weight of the motor at the other end of the table, but that’s probably more work than just putting something heavy there, and the motor is probably not heavy enough anyway.
@kellyvcraig4 жыл бұрын
If you wanted to get REAL fancy, you could add an industrial sewing machine motor. That would let you slow the buffer down for finishes, and you could even reverse it.

Hi, im goma attempt one of these soon, two quick questions, what variety of threaded rod did you use, is it acme threads? Maybe a link to the kind you used? Or even just the TPI would help, also, I couldn't find those end flanges on grizzlys website, could I get a link to that too maybe? Sorry to ask so much, I just think you did a great job, and want to emulate your build! Keep up the good work!

@@HighlineGuitars, when you rebuild it, think about a cabinet with a blower drawing through 1"x12"x25" (give or take) filters and boxes on top top control the air flow of a squirrel cage. I have an AirHandler, cabinet version, I picked up off craigslist for a hundred bucks. The filters grab an AMAZING amount of compound and buff wheel pieces. This is all stuff that doesn't get thrown around your shop, and breathed in. Too, the nice thing about a cabinet is you can mount plastic to shield your face from compound and string thrown off the wheels, and you can install a work light or two.

Hello luthiers around the world. I am an student who is learning to obtain high gloss finish. I have a problem and I don't know how to solve it. Recently I obtained a buffing wheel and a Menzerna polish compound. In the moment to buff the guitar, the buffing wheel leaves residues of the polish paste strongly adhered to the varnish , and damages the varnish. Plase, I need your advice. Thank you
