Buffalo Central Terminal On Film

Ойын-сауық

A clip I made of all the New York Central promotional footage plus the Golden Spike Centennial Limited that passed the building in May of 1969. The promotional clips include some beautiful black and white footage of the platforms of the building back in the 1930's.

Great job. I live "across the tracks," Lovejoy, which is a continuation of Paderewski Drive. I remember going to PA via Central Terminal with my parents when I was just a little kid. Growing up there, we used to go to the foot of Lovejoy in the winter and climb up the tracks and go down the side on saucers, hit the piled snow at the bottom, and go airborne 4-6ft high! On the other side, we walked the tracks south towards William Street & played ice hockey in the flooded fields. Brings back great memories...

The video showing a Buffalo Central Terminal in the 1950's, 1969 is great to watch. I was born in Buffalo on 10/17/1953. I used to go with my parents to Buffalo Central Terminal when they had to Pick up packages or send packages and watch the trains. Buffalo is one of the best places to watch train movements, Chicago, Denver, Dallas, Washington, DC, St. Louis, and Los Angeles are some of the other very good train watching places. I travel long distance by Amtrak trains.

If you want to see what this place looks like now.. we have a couple hours worth of footage documenting the current condition of the terminal and what it looks like inside, and in the tunnels below!! Let me know if anyone is interested on seeing any of those videos?!!!

I was 7 years old when the Golden Spike Centennial Limited ran through Buffalo. I wish my father would have taken us to see it. We lived about 90 miles to the East along the Route of the Lackawanna Phoebe Snow. As an adult, I have gone passed the terminal on Amtrak trains and wish the old terminal was active still. Depew station is such a let down when compared to Buffalo Central Terminal.

My father was 17 and went to see it. Got a few great photos of my grandma and grandpa & aunt posing in front of the locomotive.

The video is stretched to fill a 16x9 screen which distorts the image terribly. The material is 4x3. Where did you get the opening material? What is the name of the actual film it was from?
