I have been a Tua believer through and through but let's face the facts. He had the number 1 offence in the league played every game of the season. He had 1 win against a decent team and came up short every time against the other 5 teams. He does not deserve a big contract and sadly I'm ready to move one. Josh Allen outplayed him with 3 turnovers!!! Our defence really couldn't play any better short handed. Pathetic!

The best way to describe it is we don’t have a QB that can put the team on his back and win. We have a QB that’s great against teams that are below .500 and not great against winning teams. When the Bills needed it the most Josh Allen put the team on his back. We don’t have that type of QB. Tua is the type of QB that everything has to go right for him to have a great game. I like Tua. I thought he took a big step forward this season. But against winning teams we get exposed. I think we need to start looking to the future at QB. I just don’t think Tua is it. Look at the best QB’s in the NFL. They’re all QB’s that can put the team on their back and win the game. Tua is not that type of QB. He’s like a game manager system type QB. He has his games where he looks elite but they’re not consistent and they’re only against below .500 teams. I think it’s time to move on from Tua. That’s my honest opinion.

@@johnnyhernandez8582 I’m not putting the entire blame on Tua. It’s not all his fault. But I think we get too excited about he’s one of the most accurate QB’s in the NFL and forget there’s more to playing QB than just being the most accurate. It’s like when everything is not going exactly according to plan Tua looks like he doesn’t know what to do. Think about it… If it’s the 4th Q last drive and we need a TD to win the game. Is Tua our guy? I don’t think he is. I don’t have faith in him he could win us the game. Honestly, I’m so nervous every time the game is in his hands. We need a new QB. Tua just ain’t it.

Most on Tua but Hill dropped 2 passes one for a first down and on that final drive that PI call the ball still hit him dead in the hands which he probably runs in. People are failing to understand that we cannot run the ball on every single play. Buffalo was starting to wise up to the run so we had to change. If we didn’t change people would’ve moaned why didn’t he change the play calling. The issue here is when he switched to the passing game, we’ve got an extremely limited QB he can’t make big plays when it really matters so it was easy for that banged up second rate buffalo defence.

If Mia extends Tua, get ready for another 5. years of constant fighting for a 6th playoff seeding. Tua CANT perform against good defenses. We've seen it his entire career. If the 1st read is taken away, he struggles. The outlier was the Balt game last year. I'd rather McDaniel trade Tua for anything and start over with trying to find a QB in the late 1st round to develp around. I know what we will get from Tua; beating bad teams and constantly throwing int's in clutch time against good teams. I think McDaniel can be a long term coach here, Tua can not be the QB.

Tua was terrible. Tua wants to keep his receipts, but the receipts that he's creating for the entire world to see are getting really long. This is a HUGE loss for Tua for his career. Great work Doug, thanks for the recap. I totally agree with you, and if Tua doesn’t win or helps to win against KC, Dolphins need to search for a new QB, he doesn’t have the fire and determination to put on a winning drive when the game is on the line. I still remember the Titans game where Will Levis, after throwing an Int and causing a fumble took his team and lead them to win the game, that kind of determination is what Tua lacks, and you can’t learn that you have it or not instead he brainsfarts all the time he needs to step in and make a solid statement as an elite winning QB in clutch situations, and every playoff game it’s gonna be a clutch scenario all the time. Thanks again for your hard work and and for putting up with some of our comments in live chat.

You know what’s worse than drafting a bust at QB? Drafting a QB like Tua. Because instead of setting back the franchise a few years we get set back a decade because he’s just good enough to steal some money while not delivering anything. I really hope we don’t pay this kid elite money. He seems like a nice kid (maybe too nice) but it’s clear he doesn’t have fire necessary to deliver when it counts.

When the Dolphins play teams with a winning record we either get embarrassed or lose by 7. We would win the Super Bowl against teams that are below .500 but against teams that are above .500 we get absolutely exposed. The Bills are most likely going to beat the Steelers. Doug, I wanted to comment on a few things. First and foremost I want to thank you for all that you do. I grew up in Miami in the 70’s I have been a dolphin fan for over 50 years. I lived through superbowl years and then the Marino era and unfortunately the past 23 years with nothing but disappointment and no playoff wins since 2001. I have enjoyed watching your channel and I especially like to watch the games but turn off the volume on the biased tv broadcast team and listen to your play by play because I feel your broadcast captures how I feel and I am sure how many Fins fans feel. Lastly, one of the biggest issues that I see seriously killed this season is blowing the 14 point lead against the titans with 3min left and loose. If we had won that game the last two weeks would mean nothing and we still are the 2 seed. But that loss coupled the serious injuries we have with the OL, DL, X, Moester, and Waddle, coupled with horrible play calling killed our season. Hang in there, you do an awesome job, keep up the energy and excellent work and maybe, just maybe we pull one out next week. If not, we will regroup in the off season and see how the Fins make whatever moves to try and fix this mess.

I'm tired of McDaniel's play calling in the 4th quarter and abandoning the run, and I'm tired of not being confident in Tua when the game is on the line. Something needs to change. I'm not absolving blame from anyone else but Mike McDaniel clearly believes in Tua and wants him to come thru in clutch games. Maybe his flaw is believing in his qb too much but if Tua is the franchise qb, we need to be able to drop back and pass it every down if we have to. The fact Tua can't do it when we need it most is very concerning. I think we all want to see him do it, not in week 3 vs Denver or Baltimore, we need to beat Josh Allen and the Bills. That's our problem, and they're not going anywhere. We can all blame someone else but the fact is the qb is the leader and face of the franchise, the ball should be in his hands every time. Josh Allen had 3 turnovers and the Bills still threw it almost every down. Is that bad coaching or do they trust their qb to win the game? Again, there's blame to go around but I'm the qb was the main problem on offense tonight

For me the Ravens game was much more depressing. A blowout. This game last night was extremely winnable. It’s history and now KC. The Phins had a major playoff win in KC Christmas Day 1971. Maybe the longest game ever. It might have been their first playoff win ever. I was a junior in HS living in Tampa Bay. Saturday’s game with KC gives our Phins an opportunity to redeem themselves, especially the offense. KC is not the same team from last year or earlier and our defense is much improved. Tua needs to prove he’s elite. MM needs to give him a decent run game plan. Looking forward to it.

You hit the nail on the head this video with something I have tried to put my finger on all season . McDaniel in primetime games turns into Adam Gase like Jekyl and hyde -I think its because every sports analyst keeps calling him an offensive genius _like they did with Gase . When he does this it puts an amazing amount of pressure on the QB .Say what you want about either -if you only run the ball 3 times in the 2nd half any defense (especially Buff) have you figured out by the 4th quarter . The entire first quarter I was asking what in the actual .... is he calling these plays for . Prime time games creates "The Gase Effect" lol

Everything you sad is spot on, Doug. But you're leaving out something that's not talked enough: Hill, Wilson and Claypool dropped key pass after key pass after key pass. Tua is to blame of course but it's hard for him to make things right when his WRs let him down.

Okay Dolphins fans….If Tua balls out this playoffs, make sure you keep up the that same energy of hate towards him, that you have been spewing all season.

I’m still cool with rolling with Tua. Have to hope he’ll learn from the tough moments this season. His progress so far has been impressive.

Tua is too limited to stick with unless he has an elite defense, He can't improvise because the is very limited athletically.

I will say this Doug. Proud of you being straight forward on Tua. Now more than ever I think Tua is just a result of his receivers. Let’s be honest, he’s Kirk Cousins lite.

Tua is a play action Quarterback he does his bass work when they are running the ball keeping the linebackers in the box toward leave the middle of the field open for him. If you can’t run the ball and keep the linebackers in the box he’s going to have problems.
