    @@danflad6077 Who didn't interview him, PFF? If anything, that speaks to his talent & potential even more. They ranked him higher than Worthy based purely on game tape & measurables, then his team interview endeared him even more to the Bills. So they already thought he was good enough as a player, then were sold on him as a person

    I think what you need to remember with the bills moves in the first round is, they werent going to pick worthy anyway, and neither really were the other teams between them and KC. Along with that, it was clear at least to me that kc wanted him from the start and most other teams were not as interested in him. Following that, you guys had worthy projected 4 spots lower than Coleman

    The big thing that everyone forgets is that Kincaid is gonna be the main target. At least next year. Kid can separate, is an amazing route runner, and is a big target for Josh. Coleman will get a healthy share, but its a new offense where there is a lot more shared targets than like 60-70% going straight to Diggs. This is a SLEEPER offense.

    The Bills baited KC to take Worthy, knowing all along they wanted Coleman in the first place. Yes, Worthy is fast but he's 165 lb wet. I would rather have a 6'4 receiver that's 215 lb that's a freak. They got 2 extra draft picks plus saved 4 million in the salary and still got the player they wanted. Bills schooled KC big-time.

    The thing about Clayton, is that he has a similar issue to Mailata. They don't have a college system building their athletes, teams run their own junior grades but Mailata never actually made it into a professional League. He was told that sure, he looks impressive but at that size he wouldn't work in Rugby. He was told as much, that he may as well take the opportunity with the NFL because a Rugby team couldn't use him. They are VERY different sports. You have to be able to have the Cardio and agility to go non-stop for 80min, both sides of the ball, offense and defence. You simply don't see that many BIG guys in Rugby. Chances are with Clayton that he had a very similar message, or perhaps he's not great with his ball skills. It could be that he never comitted to one sport (I know he has Boxing and Soccer on his resume too) or any number of reasons so yeah, he might not be a Rugby player of the grade of say Zammit that the Chiefs picked up, but neither is Mailata, and Mailata was nowhere near the Rugby player that Christian Wade, Valentine Holmes or Jarryd Hayne were when they were meant to light up the league. Rugby, either version (Mailata/Hayne/Holmes played Rugby League, Wade/Zammit/Clayton played Rugby Union) have similar transferable skills, but they're not the same sport. A player who's good at Football would not make a good Rugby player, so a persons skill at Rugby has little bearing on their Football ability. All we know is he's an athletic freak and he knows how to take/and deliver a hit.

    Hey Stevie they got a third round pick and swapped a 5th this year for a fourth next year. I thought you were all in on the draft, guess not. But before you open your pie hole you should check the actual facts. Plus have you talked with Brady on how he plans to use his receivers, Buffalo was one of the top running teams last year after Brady took over Coleman is probably the best blocker out of the WR draft choices, any he like the contact. As for separating he's 6'3" and plays the position like a power forward, he really doesn't need the separation skills when he can body out the CB, after that he's hard to bring down. But please continue talking your nonsense. As for the safety, funny Greg Cosell has a way different take on him he loves the pick and sorry but Sean McDermott forgot more about the safety position than you two goofballs will ever know. I trust him because I'm pretty sure he had a hand in the selection and the fact they were willing to move up to get him say's it all for me.

    Let's see teams keep playing 2 high when the bills are constantly in 11 and 12 with either knox or Kincade or both on the field along with keon coleman. Bills are going to have a diverse attack that can kill you multiple ways. The 10 personal is gonna be almost gone so the receiver room isn't gonna have the same makeup it used to. 11 with Kincade is basically a big 10 package with James Cook on the field you can easily go empty as well. Lots of scary options. Personally still hope the bring in a vet I want dj chark there's other decent options as well.

    @mattsaxton1074

    Ай бұрын

    Fifth year option rules changed in 2020 and are far less favorable for teams to engage in. It's far less valuable than it once was, because it makes your fourth and fifth year contracts 100% guaranteed, which is a big deal in how it affects the teams overall salary in relation to the cap.

  • @mattc1176

    @mattc1176

    Ай бұрын

    @@mattsaxton1074 I get it that it’s less favourable. But the original point stands. If you were the Lions this year, would you rather pay 4yrs $120m extension to Amon-Ra St Brown or pick up a 5th yr option for $13m and do the contract next year? The latter option is just blatantly better.

  • @mattsaxton1074

    @mattsaxton1074

    Ай бұрын

    @@mattc1176 it wouldn't have been $13m. "With two or more Pro Bowl selections on the original ballot during the first three seasons of contracts, the fifth-year salary is the franchise tender, which is an average of the five highest salaries, for a player's position in the fourth year of his contract." It would've been somewhere around $27 million guaranteed, so 4 years $120m with incentives was the better deal for the team. The 5th year option is very selective now and is primarily for QB's or players that relatively have underperformed but the team still believes in (like Groot, where he doesn't get a ton of stats but plays well and fits with the team well).

    Bills had a solid draft. Drafted every single position of need. Got a lot of top 100 players. Easy B+. As Beane has said several times now. It's not September yet. It's not even June. The roster isn't set lol. Keon Coleman was an excellent addition who had been mocked as a first round talent for months and months, at one point seen as a top 4 receiver in the class ahead of Brian Thomas Jr. His 40 time scared away people but focusing on 40 time is a classic trap that so many idiots fall into. Jerry Rice ran 4.7. Tee Higgins nearly 4.6. Puka Nacua ran a high 4.5. Larry Fitz ran 4.6. There's so many examples of incredible receivers running slow 40 times but playing much faster in pads. Because 40 time has never been an indicator of whether a receiver is going to succeed at the next level or not. Literally never. Keon is 20 years old, hasn't even turned 21 yet. He WILL get better at separating. FSU didn't use him with much versatility at all, only had him running a handful of routes and he was more of a versatile route runner at Michigan State. He has GREAT short area quickness, great at moving laterally and some of the best body control and hands in this WR class, he dropped a total of 4 passes in his entire college career, and the Bills want a guy who is gonna come down with the ball above all else lol. Fastest MPH recorded in the gauntlet drill, one of the cleanest runs by any receiver in that drill in terms of trusting his hands and staying on-line. He's got a great attitude, he's got that confidence you want in a potential WR1, and he's gotta be given a chance to show what he can do. They don't call this overreaction Monday for nothing.
