​@@NoNeed-gn1mxit's called the cere. With budgies it is brown for female and blue/purple for males. It won't change color until they are adults though.

My budgies companion passed away unexpectedly couple of days ago... I have no idea how to comfort her since she's scared of me. These sounds made her chirp for the first time! Now to get her some new toys & treats.

Lol right!! I don't know why I never thought to use something like this. U rescued a parakeet that was kept in her cage 24/7. She never had human touch. I've worked with her for weeks now and have not had any success. She will not let anyone touch her. I'm at a loss.

@@amyeethomas2495 It took a solid two years for my 24/7 caged rescue to gain confidence and stop being frightened of me. The most important thing is not to force it and havinrg patience, of course.

My budgies went crazy listening to this and started chirping non stop and dancing

My bird are gay.

I am a new budgie owner and I brought the female home first and she never made a peep for two days. I bought a mail and brought him home, and I found this video and started playing it immediately they both started chirping and looking like they were playing. They both came out of the cage and was chasing each other around my house flying and having fun. I now listen to this video multiple times a day when I’m spending time with my babies. They just love it so much, and seem to be the happiest while it’s playing! Thank you!

Thats cool good luck im a bird owner for 3 years almost so a tip to sometimes when they are used to you to change cage items for theyr own fun and interest

Wow! I wish every pet owner felt the same as you. Your comment about "hitting the jackpot" really touched my heart. It's the ultimate descriptor for the perfect pet owner. If you're a first time budgie mom or dad, remember that budgies can take a long, long time to come around and let go of their fears. My rescue took a solid two years to feel comfortable enough to inspect, then hop onto the top of my enclosed fist. "Hit the jackpot" -- I *LOVE* it!!

@@B_Bodziak Thank you 😊I’m very pleased with how Operation Budgie Jackpot continues to progress. Smokey and Blue Byrd home now a little over 2 months and little Tattoo for about a month. I’m really just absolutely thrilled with how things are going. Smokey is my buddy and he’s my main focus for training and I’m going a bit slower with the other two, I kinda just let them call the shots to go at their own comfortable pace. I’m a first time bird mom and I really just couldn’t be happier with my little friends, they’re all happy too… which was the goal from the start, if they’re happy I’m happy and we’re all happy lol Thank you for your words and I wish you and your feathered friend a long happy life together 🕊🍀🌞

@@muskanrajan8682 Hello! I’m still very pleased with the continuing progress. We now have 5 budgies and Smokey is still my main focus on training. They all show all of the signs of happy chirping chattering little birds. Smokey knows how to “step up” and I’m starting to try target training and some recall training. Blue Byrd and Tattoo are finally coming around. Tattoo turned out to be very young and she really took quite some time to adjust, now she sings and head bobs to me. Nugget and Rainbow settled in quite quickly, i had them both on my finger for millet in just the first few days. If you decide to get a budgie or better yet 2 budgies, I wish you the best of luck. Also I feel for helping a new birds settle in or cage cleaning that the videos with the happy budgie sounds have been a huge help for my birds. 🍀🕊☘️☮️

My bird loves these vids. Till he gets a companion, he loves these vids . Highly recommended, I'm not even sure he would still be alive without these vids . If your in doubt this will help your bird , please hear me out this truly makes lonely birds happy.

I just brother home my new Budgie boy. My last one passed away a few years ago and live a very spoiled life. Passed away at 16! He was well loved and spoiled rotten and he kissed me and groomed me and was just a love 'bird' in disguise I think. Anyway my new budgie boy who is still a bit shy ... is tweeting away and loving hearing his tweets! Happy and dancing and because on the big tv he can see them too and think they are here with him. Thanks for this video and it calms my baby birdie budgie boy.

It's really a sad day when our budgies pass on. My Mz. Burdie just died 2 weeks ago from an abdominal tumor. The vet couldn't operate so I had to end her suffering which was very heart-wrenching for me. I can relate to all who have to say goodbye to their pet bird. It isn't fun!

I was babysitting my friend's parakeet, she was really scared because the other parakeet that lived with her died. While I was babysitting her, I wanted to make her feel more comfortable. So I played this, and she instantly stood on one foot and chirped. If a parakeet stands on one foot, it means they are either cold or comfortable. Earned a new sub.

My bird died a month ago, my other bird was sad and she started to pluck her feathers, I played birdsongs every day to make her happy and now she is healthy again

For new budgie owners: these are social birds, they need company. Either a human all the time or companion birds. They need warmth, do not isolate in an unheated part of the house. They need a variety of perches, a water dish they can bathe in, and either sand perches or the sand paper perch covers to keep beak and nails trimmed. A cuttle bone for calcium and beak grinding is good too. To start taming new birds, start by moving their cage to a room where humans are. Give them attention, offer lettuce, leafy greens, millet sprigs, other healthy treats. If you are comfortable with it, trim the flight feathers on just one wing. Start by resting your arm/ hand in their cage when you are just sitting and chilling.

@@user-wz2nw9vy8t i used to raise birds. Not every perch needs the grit cover, but its good to offer. I've taken abused, neglected, "mean" birds and turned them into loving pets. Hand raised or human assisting the parents are the most friendly, but any bird can become friendly. My methods worked for me, you do it your way. I currently have 3 budgies im taming down using my method, they've gone from quiet and scared of humans to happily playing and singing no matter what we are doing around them.

We all have times when what we say/write comes across wrong. I start by letting the birds relax in their new safe environment. Some relax quick, others don't. Then depending on the aggression level, I find a way to introduce myself as part of "their " space. We took in a pair of cockatiels who were very aggressive, for them the space i could interact was the shower, with Luke warm water lightly falling. I had to use heavy duty gloves to move the cage into the shower, but once the water was on, I could let them out, let them sit on me. Most cases, birds are scared and want to be away from the scary thing. So put the cage by you and rest a hand in it while you relax watching TV or other calm no action task. Then once they are accustomed to that, offer a favorite treat on your hand/ arm. Let them make the moves. We don't reach into the cage to grab them out unless absolutely necessary. Let them come to you, and reward when they do. Once they are comfortable with your arm in the cage, leave the cage open in a safe room for them to come out, and progress to them coming out to a treat, then onto a hand for a treat... The shower is a good way to clean the cage as well as the birds. It worked on the cockatiel pair we rescued, but others weve taken in hated the shower. It all depends on the individual bird. That particular pair went from " wear gloves to touch the cage" to the male happily grooming our hair, giving kisses, and a very stand offish female, till shortly before her death. She wanted to cuddle then, actively flying to the human and snuggling in the curve of neck meets shoulder. The male was given to good friends who moved a year later, so I don't know how long he lasted after.

I have a very aggressive budgie young female budgie that even with its favourite treat, millet, it won’t sit on my hand or interact with me, I have 2 other budgies that are friendly but my budgie is a female whereas the others are males, she lives in her own cage as she bites every other budgie she comes across, I’ve tried letting her out but that doesn’t work out as she just flies everywhere and panicks, so I decided to interact inside the cage, I only use millet as a treat so what I do is I give my budgie millet and try to gently get it in my hand, sometimes my budgie bites but other times she doesn’t, even after doing the same thing for over a month she still hasn’t warmed up to me, if I don’t have a treat I get bitten what would you do?

My budgie just lost his companion, I havent heard him chirp for a while untill now. Thank you so much!

My sister’s yellow budgie flew away a few days ago and her name is Dandelion (short form dandy). She was the only budgie I played with and she is adorable. She loves standing on my phone and biting my fingers. She likes looking at rain. I really wish she can survive out there, dandy is quite friendly with humans. :(( Now we got two more baby budgies but dandy will always be special in my heart

I killed al my 12 budgie! Never have them in cages. They flying all over the house, i put branches on all walls. One day i went to family dollar got them some type of seeds for humans. The next day they all die over weight because the oil in the seeds. One survived and i always have the window open they never fly out but the day the one survived fly out of the window and never see him again

My budgies were very quiet at the time I got them home...after playing this sound they started chirping.. relief it was for me ❤❤..

So grateful to have found this. I couldn’t tell if my bird was sick cause he was so sleepy today after letting him out of his cage for the first time yesterday. Played this video and he immediately started acting like himself again. Jumping around the cage and singing. Now playing with some sticks and brush I gathered for him. Maybe he was just really tired from a day filled with flight. Yay!

I just had 4 budgies today and they were very quiet for long time. Then they turned to be very alert and chirped loudly and when I took video of them and they heard themselves, they got in some kind of panic. So I started find some happy chirping to play for them and now they are relaxed - even whit our dog in the room. Awesome. I'm definitely going to give them an opportunity to listen this later on. ❤️

Wow this video is Emazing!!! I got my Budgie yesterday and he hasn’t ate or anything. Now he’s chirping, eating, drinking, and all over his cage. Makes me so happy now to know he’s feeling some sort of relaxation ❤

Beautiful cage, well organized with lots of games and things to chew on and eat! Wow! 🤩 There is also a fun park outside their cage, right? it’s great! 👍🏻

My female budgie recently passed way, I been playing this for my male budgie he seems less lonely

My bird was stuck in a tree. It only took him 2 minutes to come down to me with this sound

@@Incapt its cruel and taking their only escape to predators away too, my bird once escaped the room and my dog went running after after him and almost got him but he flew away

My two silent budgie is now finally speaking

My bird was chirping dancing and flying around it was awesome and most importantly I got to bond more with my budgie

i just got my two budgies today, they are a bit nervous and have been in one spot allll day. I thought to play this to make them more comfortable and now they are chirping and playing :) im so happy :)

A quiet budgie is a sad budgie. Budgies should be kept in pairs; if your budgie starts to make regular singular chirps in response to the sounds of other budgies then it means that its lonely and trying to flock call (which sounds like this: kzread.infoeCTr-CVK_Tg , basically it's saying to the other budgies "I'm here! I'm here! Please come over here!!").

Single loud chirps can be flock calls and a sign that your budgie is desperately lonely and in need of his own kind, budgies should be kept in pairs.

This helps my Budgie she sits there and listens and love the sound and tries to chirp along with them...

was recently given a budgie who lost both their owner and cage mate back to back. she's absolutely loving this. looking for a new cage mate for her but this helps in the meantime

I really would like to tam my budgies… I was dreaming about having a bird on my shoulders, they are not scared of me, they know I replace food, bath, water, etc… but they get very suspicious if I try to get too close… 😞 they were tamed when they arrived from the store, after a while they bonded very well with each other and no longer wanted get too close to humans 🙁 But at least they look very happy, I notice them quieter when it’s cloudy outside! They get lazy and sleepy, just like us! 😂

Exactly the same thing for me ! I try to take them, they become so agitated and nervous that I don't dare to take them, although I want to see them come towards me, land on my shoulder! It’s frustrating, but they are wild about approaching them! 🙁

i just got my budgies yesterday and i played them for them because they were panting. they soon stopped to listen and started chirping to the birds in the video!

I imagine this to be the equivalent of laughing/smiling for humans. When you are scared or stressed, sometimes just seeing somebody else laugh or smile can make you feel better. It's almost a nonverbal way of saying "everything is okay".

My budgies/parakeets were singing along nonstop.

Within a few seconds, my budgie started chirping along with them.

The most adorable creatures on Earth imo.Impossibile not to make you smile❤

I got a new pair of budgies yesterday. They are 7 weeks old and are quite unfamiliar with their new homes yet. they don't really sing. I hope this will help hem to feel at home a little bit and to get used to their new environment.
