I have the harbor freight helmet. But I would have definitely paid $10 more for the bigger viewing area. Either way Auto-darkening is the way to go.

Auto darkening for sure, and once you have a nice big lens, you’ll never go back!
Howdy, Brother! Once again, I appreciate your time, effort and expertise. This is important info and I'm glad you addressed it.

You bet!
Thank you man. I’ve been struggling with the harbor freight hood for about 9 months and have my first welding job coming up. Didn’t want to blow $300~$700 on a new one and wasn’t sure if I could trust the YESWELDER until watching this. We’ll see how this job goes; maybe I will end up shelling out the money for a professional hood.

Check out the Arc Captain Large View hood. It’s been my new favorite, but very similar to the YesWelder
NICE VIDEO THANKS. WHAT YOU SAY MAKES SENSE
Thanks!

Absolutely. Also worth checking out the ArcCaptain Large view hood.
Excellent, thanks
I can depend on my yes welder helmet to flash me at the worst possible times every time. very reliable in that way.
I bought the Yeswelder helmet you are reviewing here (LYG M800H) and I have flashing problems with it. It also came a bit mis-shapened. The flashing issue occurred after owning it for 40 days. I am still in a never-ending correspondence with Yeswelder just to get them to replace the helmet. I've called and emailed twice. They don't want me to send it in, but say I need to create and produce a video of the problem. So I have to go out and buy the equipment for that, hire extra people to help, and then do video editing and send it in a small enough file for email? No thank you. I don't even know how in the world I would capture this from behind the mask. I'm not a video professional. This is absurd. They keep asking me to perform the same trouble-shooting steps repeatedly despite my assurances they don't work. I think they are having so many issues with these $75 helmets that they are trying to prevent returns altogether under warranty. I have spent way too much time on this. I do not recommend Yeswelder. In my experience they are not honoring their warranties by gaming their out-of-country status.
thanks
Is the battery replaceable in the yeswelder? I didn't realize some cheaper helmets have batteries that just expire and the auto darkening feature stops working. Nice comparison 👍

It is. Super easy as well, don't even have to take the lens out. it even comes with an extra battery in the box.
Made a mistake of buy a fixed shade and struggled to do simple tac welding......Got so frustrated, I bought a Hobart auto dark...I am now in Happy Land! just $111.00 for the helmet....don't mess around...just get an auto dark from the get go.

I agree. It makes for a better experience all around!
No mention of lense functionality ie speed must be good if its not even worth mentioning right ?

The glass by default already blocks UV, the speed at which it darkens is not as important nor it's part of the UV protection. But yes, those circuits are so simple, that the reaction speed is on par with the most expensive ones.

@@GoldSrc_ My experience is speed is everything when it comes down to whether my eyes feel like they have sand in them after a long day under the hood, i don't want to see any part of the flash especially the front end . So over the years ive used lots a helmets at work and slower = pain

@@luckyPiston Since the glass already blocks UV, you shouldn't have the feeling of sand on your eyes. Unless you want to say that your experience trumps physics lol. I get that the flash can be annoying, but other than a bright flash, it poses no risk. Auto darkening helmets have been around for like 20-30 years, if what you say was a real problem, you'd see that being said all the time by every single welder.
Your comparing the high end YesWelder to the other helmet, but YesWelder also sells those the same as HF.
