    I would like to see that. I have never used that one. But there are many options out there just as good as this device as far as modeling goes with prices dropping all the time. And that's all this peddle is really good for modeling effects and the DI is OK. The looper and drums are crap. No undue button on looper. wtf is that... The DI is decent if you lower your output below what you would normally have it on. The selling point for me was the expression peddle, looper, drums and DI all in one. The peddle is OK but its sweep is too narrow and feels weird. Drums w/looper are a joke. There are certainly better choices out there.

    Pretty interesting age of modeling we’re entering. I mean like the main battle we’re used to happened with high end rather pricey units in the past decade. I bet now’s the time it biases towards more affordable stuff. I’ve seen a vid on this unit’s direct competitor like yesterday (nux mg-300), and only by the first looks, I thought this would be a mere copy of that. Turned out to be it isn’t- metal casing, more connection options, different software. And they sound decent enough with options to load your trusty ir. Does this unit also work as an audio interface?

    I'm still using an OLD Digitec multi effects pedal that I bought new back in like '98' it has a great expression pedal, and my favorite patches along with "bypass" one touch stomp! So my JCM800 2203 can breathe. W/O the delay-reverb-distortion-phazer I use as pathway #1. One of the best features is on a dark stage you can still see everything that's goin on, the expression pedal is assignable as well for say: amount of delay, or what have you....volume pedal etc..you have your whammy effect..& of course wah-wah..& what KIND of wah you want...(yah-yah is a backwards wah) & others. I couldn't possibly go into all that the Gen X3 can do! But one of the coolest features is: you can throw it in it's little padded bag with no amp needed whatsoever and still have a decent sound going to the board and out of the P.A. it has 60 watts of it's own power stage & a 6L6 actual tube, which sounds very good coming back through your on stage monitors! I'm not going to lie, it's best with a good head run through the effects loop, or straight into the front of the amp! Drum machine for practicing alone or recording, but my favorite thing is running a CD or whatever into the purpose built jack, and you can isolate a part your having trouble learning, & slow it down to whatever speed you want W/O losing the PITCH of the original recording! Amazing for fast chops & passages in songs. Genius! 200 patches out of the box, & 200 custom user interface features you set between the black & red channels for your own stuff. Nowadays you can pick one up on Reverb for $50-$60 bucks. Downside is the Harmon Group doesn't have any online content to update your unit like it did when new. But hey now you can use your phone to copy patches nowadays! It's all there, & all I need with the 200 user presets!! V⚡

    Thanks for showing this. It helped me decide if I should get one. I decided yes! While it certainly has its limitations and issues for the price it's pretty damn cool. Most of the effects are pretty good. I have been able to create and save some nice sounds and tones that I use all the time. For someone who can't afford a ton of peddles, this is a nice option. The looper is just OK. The drums suck although they have added more. Be aware customer support is almost non-existent. I had a small issue that wasn't addressed in the manual and I had to rattle some cages to get any response. I did get my issue fixed and the company seems like they will continue updating this device. I love this thing. It has given me far more options when recording at home. And when I want to go jam and don't want to bring the kitchen sink. This thing is a lifesaver for me. Things like this allow me to save up for the more pricy musical items on my list.

    @@TarenLeitzke I have not tried that but I will. TBH now that I have spent lots of time on it I wish I never bought it. Issues that drive me nuts. There is NO undo button for the lopper. No update to fix that coming. So if you rec one phrase and then another and make a mistake there is no way to go back you have to start over. I was able to confirm this with tech support finally. This makes this looper trashy and I end up using another peddle to loop. The drums do not output when you record. to your PC direct. While I don't need this often I l find this lame. Again making the looper trashy. Again, I end up adding more old peddles back to my board. There are other issues with the drums and looper I won't get into for brevity. The effects sound great but when recording I have to record dry. If I use any effects I get a very slight crackling noise. It's faint but easily heard with headphones when mixing. I spent a long time making sure this wasn't a cable, or my instruments, or just one effect, or a setting, etc. It wasn't. It is the device. It renders it useless for recording for me. This was crushing as I was getting good sounds and working on a project. It's very prone to electrical interference. In short, I have gone back to recording through my amps usb out and using all the peddles I was using before with no crackling. If I'm jamming I do use it occasionally. I should have spent the extra money and bought a better device. If you just jamming its fine. If you want to use the internal looper or record directly to your PC its problematic at best. I have had numerous other issues I won't bother you here with but needless to say it just sits in the corner now unless I am jamming outside my home with someone. Even then I bring my other looper. This kind of tech is great but this device was not made or designed by anyone who plays music.

  • @TarenLeitzke

    @TarenLeitzke

    @@funkymonkey8174 Thanks for the detailed reply! I don't frequently use a looper and I don't currently record, but that's good to know about those issues if I decide to get this and ever get into recording. I mostly want to use the pedal for Whammy-style pitch-shifts. I was comparing the size of this to other units and I also become worried, with how thin it is, whether the pedal would have adequate sweep to function well as a pitch-shifter. I have also heard some good things about the Zoom G1X Four and found a few videos demoing the Whammy effect on it and it sounds good, so I'm leaning towards either the Zoom G1X Four or this Valeton one at the moment. Generally the Zoom G1X Four is also cheaper, which is nice, though the Valeton is currently on sale from an eBay seller which brings the price down so they are almost identical. Let me know how you like the pitch-shifter or other pedal effects if you try them out later. Thanks again!

    @@TarenLeitzke I will try that in the next day or so. I will let you know! You're justified in your worry over the thinness. This bothered me right away when I went to use it. The peddle itself is small and feels awkward. And it does not have the sweep of other traditional expression peddles I have used. However, there are some settings to tweak on it I have not tried.

    @@funkymonkey8174 Hi, I was just wondering if you have tried pitch-shifting with this pedal yet? I received a reply from Valeton on a question I asked on another video and they said the "Whammy option is not possible at the moment", so I was wondering based off that if it's even possible to connect the pitch-shifting effect to the pedal. Are you able to control the pitch-shifting with the pedal at all? If that is possible, I'm leaning towards giving this pedal a try, but if not then I will likely go with a Zoom or older Digitech pedal. Thanks for any information!

Weird question I know, but I'm hoping this could also be used with an acoustic IR (loaded into the cab block) into an acoustic or clean amp model. With that I'd be able to use my Tele (with a piezo pickup under the saddle) with a preset for acoustic tones and a preset for electric for when I'm playing simple solo/duo gigs. All with one small setup.

    Would be curious of yite thoughts of the headrush 112 frfr. With a few of these budget modelers. Pod hd pro (whatever one you have I forgot), moore preamps, valeton, nux, all the ones that are $300 or lower. Would be most curious if the headrush could be a nice temp cab or sub cab for a 2x12 or 4x12.

    Have you try using it as an audio interface with multiple usb ports connected at the same, I'm having an issue doing that, for example if I use the valeton alone as an audio interface with my pc is working fine, but let's say I want to use a wirless mouse, once I put the mouse usb receiver, it keeps working because I can see the sound info on my daw, however the sound coming from my monitors dissapears, no audio is coming out at all, I already tried with 6 different computers and is doing the same thing, do you know ifvthat can me fixed?

    Taylor! Hopefully you can help me out here man. This question doesn't apply to this video but I'm going crazy NOT finding the answer. So I want to get an HX Stomp for live use to replace my head. I'm planning to power the stomp thru a cab with a power amp pedal (Mooer baby bomb 30). To connect to the power amp pedal, don't you use the FX send jack on the stomp? If so, does that mean you cannot use the FX loop on the Stomp for your pedalboard? I hope this makes sense. But it's the one question that makes or breaks me buying one or not.

  • @TaylorDanley

    The issue most likely is that you are running an amp sim into an amp. They're really meant to be ran into the fx return with the cab emulation off, or direct into something with flat response (PA, studio monitors, etc). If you're going to use it with a small combo amp like that, turn the amp/cab off and just use the effects... or plug in headphones!
