Pro tips: 1. Before laying your tarp, spray an immense amount of insect killer and weed killer. 2. Ground n pound your soil/dirt 3. When choosing a tarp, choose one with a high thickness like 10mill or higher 4. After you've finished with your flooring and all(pavers, stones, rocks, dirt, etc,) spray all over it with a water repellent, do about 3 or more coats. All these things will make your project last much much longer

Good job. Wish I remembered to video and post my projects.. I go a bit overboard 😂. Took a week vacation to pour 6000lbs of concrete into diy pavers and black rocks in between.. edged with metal edging staked and then mulch ramping down. French drain underneath. $300 in concrete, $150 for the nice edging and mulch. Rocks for free on marketplace.

If you start reading through the historical accounts of the first non native settlers, you will quickly notice the bulk of this country was covered in grasslands. They were consequently plowed under to provide food and incomes to the new arrivals. Fast forward to modern times and the native grasses have been replaced with turf grass for visual appeal and the majority of people with yards stay in their houses day and nigh and don’t actually utilize the outdoor space they have. Meanwhile the misinformed eco-hippies cry “plant trees to save the earth. A botanist however, would correct them by stating how grasslands hold and sequester a lot more carbon and pollutants than any forest. And yes, he could add some flowers, but as stated earlier, the vast majority of people do not actually spend that much time in their yards. Walk or drive through your neighborhood and actually look at people’s properties. In general, the only well maintained properties are owned by retired people, hobbyist gardeners, the “lawn dad” crowd, and the people who pay laborers to create the facade. Everyone else simply has the basic, legally required, amount of greenery on their properties. To bring us back to replying on your comment on this man’s video, the tiny scale of this mans outdoor space is not really conducive to a lot of plant growth. And from the looks of what he did, he is simply looking to be able to sit outside and enjoy some fresh air.
