I have the regular a129 duo. It's a great camera for the price. The GPS feature is fun to look at, I'm not really sure how practical it is in reality. The parking mode is pretty good too. Totally worth the upgrade from the $40 Amazon special.

Nice camera. I concur everyone needs one and I'll take your advice. On a different subject, I have noticed in at least one other challenger vid (rear spoiler install) you mention the service manual. Where did you get yours? Does the electrical troubleshooting manual have single line drawings and pictures to show where the components are located? Thanks and keep the vids coming. BE SAFE

I’m using the chilton online manuals it’s a yearly subscription per car but it’s the only one that comes with electrical schematics. The mechanical side has a lot of great pictures of the actual car parts and where they’re located. The electrical side is more of just raw schematics and components

I wish they had upped the front FPS to 60 @2K with the rear cam running. A frame rate of 30 FPS (front) may be enough under ideal circumstances , but not necessarily if a car is speeding past you or crossing in front of you. At least that 's my experience from running 30 FPS cams on my motorcycle.

hows the parking mode on this camera ? how does it compare to Thinkware or Blackvue in that regard? thanks

thanks for the great video, i've been waiting a review on this model. Can you confirm if the A129 plus supports 1440p 60fps (front) + 1080p 30fps (rear) as i can see that looks an option from the video? If yes, do you experience any issue from running this at the setting without any overheating issues. Cheers

Yes it says that it supports it at 60fps with both front and rear connected. I plan on playing with it this week to see if I can further improve the image

@@WorkPlayDrive Awesome, looking forward to hearing on your experience with it. Bummer they didn't include 1080p 60fps for the rear though :) An option for 1080p 60fps Front and Rear would be a killer feature as i have not seen any other dashcam with this option

in parking mode will the motion sensor pick up pedestrians? I'm in the market due to vandalism

Hi I need a solution for a motor home. Can you please recommend a 2 channel dash cam that not only records like the A129 Duo but allows for full time rear viewing using an external waterproof camera with night vision capability? The rear camera type I am thinking would have 2 adjustable lenses, one for the dash cam the other to a dash mounted screen to monitor behind the vehicle.

I'm not sure on that one, but I like the idea, you may need to go with 2 separate systems. One for the dash cam and one for the rear mounted cam for parking. Great video, does it good at picking up licenses plate at night? Because I had a hit and run during the night and my blackvue dr900s didn't pick up the license plate well because it was too blurry.

It does better at license plates than the black view. From what I’m hearing though the VIOFO 119v3 has the best plate reading

Hardwire kit will let you use Parking mode. Great feature to keep an eye on your car. I recently discovered how a scratch got on my Hellcat while I was in a store grabbing coffee thanks to parking mode.

Not yet I’m going to give it a go this spring when I check and clean all my cams.

only thing with this camera is its bad at night or in bad weather, when the suns out its really good probably best cam ive had.

This is not the A129 pro, this is the A129 plus. This one is based on the more successful A119 v3 cam with alleged improvements on a lot of the complaints people experienced on the a129 plus.

Yes most cams have “parking mode” and there are also battery packs that allow them to record for many hours while parked.

Could you have used the Blendmount Mirror taps? I wonder if the gauge is thick enough.

Blend mounts tap the ACC power and provide 12-14 volts, most cams use 5 volts. Only a few Like Thinkware use the full 12V. From what I see on their site Blend mounts are rated at 2amps and my on cam is using 3.6-4.4 amps so I don't think it's a good fit.

To some it is, like me for example when my club takes an amazing cruise. The entire trip is logged with all our stops so I can just enjoy the day without keeping track of the route.

@@WorkPlayDrive I'm trying to get two of the Viofo V3 for front and rear because of the clear night vision of the V3. I know its more power consumption etc. Which one would you consider overall quality between the V3 and the one you're reviewing? I haven't seen any dashcam that can beat its clarity of capturing license plates like the V3. Unfortunately it lacks many important features like rear camera, wifi cloud, 4K video quality etc

WiFi is ok for viewing the live feed, but downloading clips takes forever. 4K is great, but if the clarity of the plate is t there it’s not worth it. I have not tried the V3 yet but if you few it gives the best pic it may just be worth getting 2 of them. I just started testing the Zenfox z3 which is a 3 camera system. Front, rear and inside the car. Should be interesting 🤔

it's bigger than some of the other cams on the market, but it's still completely hidden by my rear-view mirror.

Viofo dash cam is last sh*t - I had two and both are defect after no a year (one after 6 month). Front camera doesn't work, rear camera records only in black/white, no upgrade is possible... For such one poor quality it's too expensive, actually it's a no go for anywhere priced products. Especially there is no support from Viofo team! I defenitly don't recommend this Product (and manufacturer)!
