If you're still looking look in North Druid Hills, North Decatur, Dunwoody, Midtown/Buckhead areas. Granted you will pay more but the area will be better and much safer. I live in a gated apartment in North Decatur but no one can get in without facial recognition and if you're a visitor of a resident they have to let you in only after seeing who you are on camera.

Hey Y'all! For everyone asking, the name of the apartment that I left out is called *The Park at East Ponce in Stone Mountain*. Howeverrrrr, I would STRONGLY recommend that you all check out the comments. There are a lot of locals warning me about the areas mentioned in this video! 🧡

Girl, I'm from Atlanta, Stone Mountain specifically and those are NOT nice areas. You should DEFINITELY cross the Reserve off your list. I know exactly where that it and you don't want those problems. I highly encourage you to talk to someone from Atlanta, as a lot of the areas that seem more suburban are actually the hood in disguise LMFAO. Roswell and Sandy Springs are good areas though, as well as McDonough and Kennesaw but they are quite a bit further from the city of Atlanta

luxconcept luxconcept everything you just described you can find in Midtown, it’s full of nice restaurants, bars, gay clubs, and it’s right next to Piedmont park which where they have a lot of festivals and concerts. It’s so gay friendly that the crosswalks are rainbows. However it’s a bit on the expensive side. Sandy springs is another great area with lots of nice places to eat and visit, some friends and I even found a really nice park with a waterfall there. All of Atlanta is pretty LGBT friendly tbh so that shouldn’t be a problem at all really. Atlanta’s kind of weird place, when it comes to housing prices, most of the expensive places have little pockets of affordability and the seemingly less desirable places are in the process of gentrification so you’ll find super nice spots in low income areas. But my suggestions, Sandy Springs, College Park (used to be the hood but it’s turned around a lot, a nice shopping and restaurants in the area now), Marietta, Brookhaven, and Alpharetta are pretty nice places to look at that still have affordable areas

Don’t move into 1500 Oaks they have shootings on the regular, the office staff is very rude and not helpful, numerous maintenance staff but only one actually does the work, trash always over flooded and a lot of break in!

It's so crazy how high Atlanta has gotten. I moved here in 2013, apartment was 535.00 for a 1 bedroom in College Park. Before I moved rent was up to 850 and it turned major hood.

When I moved there in 2006, I rented a nice 2 bedroom in Vinings for 850. By the time I left, that place was renting that same unit for 1350.

That's definitely me . My mother always told me go snoop at an apartment in the evening and you'll see exactly what's going on.. So I don't mind being a spy for the moment when I'm checking out apartments.. Also the water bugs thing is always a big No Vegas has that issue especially if you have those palm trees or pine trees

@@SimoneNicole I almost turned right around and left because those things are frightening and fast. Close your drains are night, make sure your screens are secured to the window, seal any cracks, spray industrial spray around the outside of your doors and windows. Always roll up car windows.

I used to stay at 1500 oak. I really liked it. Stayed there through my high school years.

Lol, this was a nice video. I’m from the areas you went to go look at...and girl NO! RUN!!! Especially Clarkston😂. These are not the areas you want to be in. Try North Druid Hills, Chamblee, Chamblee Tucker, Marietta, Grayson, the actual city life is wayyyy more expensive, but if you can do it go for it! The price point you’re looking at are most of the suburban and hood areas. I know I’m late to this video, but I hope you found the best place for you!

I would HIGHLY recommend going there and seeing the surroundings for yourself to get a feel for the neighborhoods!

Brockett Road ain't the place to be. I toured an apartment there last year. One of the guys in the office actually said this is not a good area at all! That should tell you everything about Brockett.

I kno this video is old but I use to stay at the third apartments you looked at.. it was my favorite apartment there were no roaches no one complained everybody pretty much stayed to themselves..I just didn’t care too much for the ppl in the office or the area Lol

Just a heads up all of those locations are equally as bad as East point and college parks areas that I grew up in if you wanna keep this suburban act up then you might want to consider Alpharetta,buck head or Roswell they are expensive but the best cities in the A

Midtown and Decatur are really good neighborhoods to be in right now their priced reasonably and good quality and try looking at some condos cause I live in Marietta right now paying 1500 for a two bedroom apartment that’s newly renovated and this community isn’t any better than college park nor East point and the apartment is cramped there’s nothing to do up here in walking range so overall Marietta isn’t the place to be I made a bad decision

You may want to consider Vinings. It’s still nice and you are right next to 75 which cuts right through Atlanta. This will give you fast and easy access to almost anything especially if you are going “against” traffic ( heading South after 2 pm). Or, because you have a decent budget, find a nice little spot in the Virginia Highlands, the Old 4th Ward, Inman Park area. Some places will give concessions and if so, live near the Belt Line. It’s gentrified, but nice. Access to nice restaurants, trails, parks etc.

Yes! At some places it literally determines what the amount of your security deposit will be. But all apartments run at least a background check to check your rental history

honestly i can say that the video is not but i am born and raised in East Point on the southside (what you called the ghetto) and their are nice suburban areas on this side... just as nice as the north side.. neighborhoods are just as bad there too. Dont go by what people say or think the southside is like. Thanks but love the video other than the negative statements about my city.
