BUDGET EF K-Swap Tuck Radiator for under $100? - Project Budget EF Gets Cooler

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Budget EF K-Swap, Part 5: Tuck Radiator for $100!
By Brian Gillespie
Budget EF build gets even cooler. We found our own budget tuck radiator for about $100. Installed and with Radiator hoses and filler neck it comes in at less than $200. Below the video we have a parts list so you could do this or some variation for your own project. What's cooler than a budget tuck radiator? One with an efficient budget fan. Check out the custom brackets for our $24 radiator fan.
We all know the K24 is a tall engine, so we also make a drop radius rod for the Full Race traction bar so it clears the crank pulley even with the suspension under load.
So what did we pay for our custom tuck radiator? Here's a list of links and prices.
Mark 1 Rabbit aluminum racing radiator $105
Lower coolant hose Gates P/N 23368 $26
Upper coolant hose Gates P/N 23340 $16
Moroso in hose filler neck $37

Incase anyone cared, those pre-cut holes he used to mount the radiator are actually for the factory A/C condenser. There’s a tab that slides into the top hole and a bolt goes through the bottom hole.

What plug is welded into the radiator? The fan switch sensor. Also why does nate switch plugs on the fan? Is it oem plugs in place of the aftermarket ones. Questions after questions. How did you guys get the engine temp gauge to work on your ef cluster? I didnt see you guys add an extra ect sensor. From what I heard. ECT/CTS sensor on the k20z1 head goes for ecu. But there needs to be another one added for the gauge cluster to pick up.

Making one side of your little bar left hand tread and the other right hand thread is pointless. If the bar is straight you can just twist the bar to establish your desired suspension settings but when the bar is oddly shaped as yours is that option is thrown out the window. Now you're tied to half turn increments, with a little wiggle room, which would work with both ends being typical right hand threads. In either case it will get the job done... just a pointless addition for your application.

“ But when you actually think about it a Motor turns Electric Power to Mechanical power not Chemical Reaction and Mechanical power” Actually, a motor is defined as something that produces motion, regardless how it’s powered. Therefore, it is not incorrect to say that an automotive engine is a motor. However, an engine is a device that generates work from heat. By this definition, it is completely incorrect to call the motor in an EV an engine.
