Hi Guys here is a caravan park it’s worth stopping at. The place is called Julia Creek in the far west of Queensland and the address is: Julia Street / Old Normanton Road, Julia Creek, QLD 4823. I wanted to stay here to have a look at the Great Artesian Basin baths that they have there. Where you can soak your cares away and immerse yourself in the therapeutic minerals found in the water, whilst enjoying a glass of bubbly. Made sure you watch the video to see the Baths.
Just ask the friendliest staff I have met so far to book into the baths. Plus during June to September on Monday Nights there is a Bush Dinner for $20, will get you a two-course home cooked meal catered by one of the local not-for-profit groups. The dinner was very filling and just sitting around the fire getting a great vibe, it's a great night as you can see on the video. The Park has heaps of powered sites that can accommodate not all sizes of rigs, I have a 8.5m Rv and I fitted in there with a bit of space. Just a bit of a heads up guys, some of the sites are squeezed in, in that area. They also have powered camping sites at the back of the park, which are larger than the main camping area. The unpowered grass sites for those who are self-sufficient or Roof top tents this area is small-ish and you can see how big it is on the video. If you didn’t want to bring you caravan they have a few large self-contained cabins with kitchenette, dining area and bathroom that can accommodate either four or six guests. The park has a heap of bikes for everyone, to explore all of Julia Creek for FREE, and they offer FREE Wifi, and keeping in the free theme, seeing how this is a council run park, there is a pool right next door which they offer for FREE again. This park is a council run park, so this park is in great shape. The toilets are 5 out of 5 as you expected, there are two toilet blocks in this park and both blocks are fantastic. Both of the laundry blocks were better than mine, one of the blocks has about 3 washing machines, but no dryers, the second block had 4 washing machines and a wheel chair Toilet and Shower as well. Plus out the back of the laundry there is a heap of clothes lines. For all you guys that travel with pets, this caravan park is pet friendly and right across the road there is an off leash dog park. The park has heaps for us and the dog, check out the video review I did on this park. Please remember guys there is so much to see and do around this area, if you have time go to the Visitor Centre in town, you will be surprised what is there.
