You watch You hear you comprehend. No one and I mean NO ONE played drums like Buddy Rich. He was in a class in itself. Never duplicated no one could come up with these ideas and keep is audience spell bound. The one the only Buddy Rich enough said
Tony Gorruso is such an awesome lead player, he plays with such enthusiasm and energy, I love it.
I think that is one of the best drum sets I have ever heard Buddy play.
Incredible as always. This version here of Channel one suite is the first i heard and saw with him live with the band on a broadcast live directly from the Berlin Jazzfestival on television with my jaw dropped down to the floor, as a 16 year old, and made me want to play jazz. There is something special about this version, full of fire, musicality and invention and creativity, and the drumsolo is one of the best he did on this tune i think. A lot of stuff i havent heard him do before. Very inspirational, and unique and godlike as always. I tried to copy a lot from this solo to my own playing. He was the greatest drummer that ever lived and will ever live a genius and one of a kind we will never see again.
Those Radio Kings sound incredible! Buddy just got better and better right until the end!
Great, video.

I think you are correct
The beginning of the solo at 13:43 is one of the best moments in the history of drumming ... technically impossible ... effortless... unbelievably funky!

"Technically impossibly & unbelievably FUNKY!" In the same sentence no less!
A thousand "likes" for the master!!!
From around 16:23 onwards... just forget it. There will *NEVER* be another. Absolutely incredible. A genius. Just listen to the crowd's reaction... it says it all. They were watching and listening to the Mozart of drumming (and they knew it!).
THE BEST quality! Thank you Enzo!
Dave Panichi (1st trombone) has the best seat in the house...

Thanks so much for taking the time to post that Enzo! I loved that concert but never viewed it with such good audio and video. Bravo! You've probably been asked but would you have the rest of it in such good quality? Just thought I'd ask. Stay well.
