Buddy Holly - Rave on!
Музыка
Well, the little things you say and do make me want to be with you.
Rave on, it's a crazy feeling and I know it's got me reelin',
When you say I love you
Rave on.
The way you dance and hold me tight,
The way you kiss and say goodnight,
Rave on, it's a crazy feeling and I know it's got me reelin',
When you say I love you
Rave on
Well, rave on it's a crazy feeling,
And I know, it's got me reelin',
I'm so glad that you're revealin' your love for me.
Rave on, rave on and tell me, tell me not to be lonely,
Tell me, you love me only, rave on with me.

This song in Vinyl was perfect. Such an underrated series.
One of the VERY few singers who could sing a rocker like this with real authority; then turn around and sing a ballad like "True Love Ways" with just as much authority ... Buddy was incredibly prolific as a writer and recorder, and probably influenced more musicians across the world than any other player/singer.

Captain Janks Buddy Holly is said to have been a musical genius. Buddy did not write this song, but he and the Crickets wrote most of their songs. When he died Buddy left dozens of unfinished recordings. He was a prolific songwriter, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1986. Buddy was extremely creative and innovative in his production of music. Norman Petty said Buddy was the most stubborn person he ever met as he knew exactly how he wanted his songs produced and that he was a perfectionist. In 1997 The Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences awarded Buddy the Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2011 his star was placed on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. There is a statue of him here in Lubbock on the West Texas Walk of Fame. From Wikipedia: "Encyclopedia Britannica stated that Holly 'produced some of the most distinctive and influential work in rock music.' AllMusic defined him as the single most influential creative force in early rock and roll. Rolling Stone ranked him number 13 on its list of '100 Greatest Artists.' The Telegraph called him a 'pioneer and a revolutionary, a multidimensional talent (who) co-wrote and performed (songs that) remain as fresh and potent today.'" Amazingly he achieved all this in less than 2 years. As for me, I just love his music!

@@DeeDee62750 Buddy Holly also did not write the song Peggy Sue. The was song written by J. Allison - N. Petty recorded and released as a single by Holly in early July of 1957. Now the fact that he did not write these two songs does not take away anything from Buddy Holly's career accomplishments or the fact that he was one of the main creators of Rock and Roll Music; no more than the fact many of the earlier works by the Beatles were covers of other peoples songs.
@DeeDee62750

@@coleparker Jerry Allison, Buddy Holly, and Norman Petty wrote Peggy Sue. However Norman Petty was known for putting his name on songs he did not write since he owned the recording studio. Buddy changed the name of the song from Cindy Lou, a niece of his, to Peggy Sue as Jerry Allison wanted to impress Peggy Sue Geron. He later married and divorced her. I know the story of Peggy Sue as she lived here in Lubbock up until her death a few years ago. He also wrote and recorded on a demo apartment tape the song Peggy Sue Got Married. The apartment tapes were discovered after his death, and some were dubbed and released.
