You have a great place in history- this album is as good as any electric blues album I've heard, and I've heard a ton. This is the first recorded work of Buddy Guy where the REAL Buddy Guy- not some watered down version- came out. A huge influence on me, along with Right Place Wrong Time by Otis Rush, and Showdown by Albert Collins, Robert Cray, and Johnny Copeland, ever since I was 15. Many, many thanks to you and your dad!!!!!

I used to see Buddy come to Austin and play at Antones for a week with the house band. He always knew he could have fun and have a band that was second to none in the world

Just watched "The Blues Chase The Blues Away" and John Mayer talked about this song. Defenitely the best of Buddy Guy. Buddy said that chess records wanted him to be more contained with his playing. But come on how on earth would you contain that soul and that power? It's impossible.

Absolute killer electric blues guitar playing. The intro is as good as any of Hendrix's blues playing.
