The Buddha taught the Dhamma perfectly. If you deviate from it by mixing it with other ideas or by misinterpretation, then it's not Dhamma anymore. The Tipitaka is the Dhamma. Anything outside of it is not the Buddha's sutra. There is no Theravada versus Mahayana, its either the Buddha's teaching or something that is not the Buddha's teaching yet is purported to be.

You can't compare, Hinduism is very vast. Buddhism is specific , while there are commonalities between the two, hinduism 's basic tenants are not even known by so called hindus
