Although I was devastated when he left, I was excited for him and elated when he won his 7th ring. I always felt there was more to Tom Brady than dinking and dunking and I'm glad he went to Tampa to show the world he can make all the throws (some of which were phenomenal!) It makes me wonder how many more Super Bowls we (Patriots) would have won if Belichick didn't find his WR's on the scrap heap or 5th round. No offense to Amendola and Edelman; they both played their hearts out, but they could not stretch the field. Moss was only with the team from 2007-2009 and we got a glimpse of what Brady could do with a Moss caliber receiver. Now Brady has 3 of them! I hope they repeat and then threepeat the Super Bowls, which would be another first! Go Bucs! As for Mac, he did a good job but let's stop the Brady comparison talk please! Love these 4. Lavonte nodding when Brady was speaking about defense is my fave part. I really hate seeing people attacking feet or knees too.. Season ending injuries are usually with injuries with the knees

  • @thinking6307

    @thinking6307

    2 жыл бұрын

    Right, Hanie. The knees are super vulnerable...it is just the nature of the beast. And sometimes guys bust their knees when they are all by themselves. Most every player knows and feels the vulerability of their knees...and their opponents and teamates knees. Intentional knee strikes GOTTA be super rare. But leg tackles can't be banned. Mike mentioned head shots...probably speaking of really vicious helmet to helmet shots...and that HAS to be discouraged. And Mike even alluded to the fact that helmet strikes can and do happen...without intentional mega violence. Tom went on to speak to both sides of the violence and rules debate...as a fine line that players and rule makers need to be vigilant about. And you are RIGHT Hanie...this crew is very thoughtful and considering of these issues.

The further he goes he'll only be discovering more new frontiers... no longer uncharted waters...no longer no-man's lands. Most underrated to me is either Mike Edwards or William Gholston. Nobody gives him credit but William Gholston was the one who kept Aaron Rodgers from running into the endzone. He grabbed for Rodger's feet on that play and made Rodgers go high knees so he couldn't build momentum by getting a running start towards the endzone. Bought enough time for Suh to get closer and made Rodgers hear those footsteps coming a little louder. Also the Guy is a relentless rotational player whose motor never stops. Great compliment on that D-Line to have.

    I think about Tom saying how the quarterback should be thinking about how to throw it so that the receivers aren't getting hit - I was looking at injury reports for other teams from the offseason and The Patriots had 5 tight ends injured. Miami had 5 WR's injured. Team after team had articles about being riddled with injuries and Tampa has COVID and Scotty Miller has a mild elbow injury and Gio has a moderate high-ankle sprain. Almost nothing on Tampa and team after team after team riddled with injuries and I wonder how many are because their QBs are being taught wrong?

  • @gorky1317

    He speaks from experience more than anything. He knows what toll that type of receiving takes on a man, Julian Edelman used to embody this style of placing his body on the line for a catch. Tom saw first hand what that did to Julians body over those years. It's not necessarily about "being taught wrong", its about play calling and quick decision making. Its common to see a receiver make themselves enough space for a clean easy catch, that leaves them virtually defenseless. Especially on safety valves and throws underneath. It's more a timing thing, all about X's and O's, and creating these spaces and thus situations - than it is poor QB throwing across the league.

    Tackles for loss are one aspect of defensive stops. Hustle stops are also another stat that doesn't get much appreciation. Lavonte is regularly in the top 3 at both defensive stops and hustle stops. He was 2nd in Hustle stops in 2019 with 19. He led the NFL over his first 3 seasons with 228 defensive stops. He was an alternate in 2015 though.

For everyone who only watched the movie. The writer thought that the movie format wasn't giving him enough time to tell the whole story he wanted to tell, so he did a tv show in the same style.
