Hi Simon and Team! I left a comment in the general feed but thought it might be good to respond to this thread; the sponsor link is only available to Americans, according to the site tonight. I’m located in Australia and not sure if I misheard your advert or if you guys aren’t aware. Be super cool if they were to become available here! Thanks for all your hard work, your channels are one of my staples for a relaxed and informative evening. All the best!

They only ship in the US. Would have been a nice “nice to know” fact
Many years ago, while walking in the area of Buckingham Palace, I stumbled upon the Queen's Gallery. The two items I can remember seeing that day: a letter from George George III lamenting the loss of the American colonies and the shirt Charles I wore on the morning of his execution. It was a cool morning, and the king asked for another shirt to put on "lest my enemies think I tremble with fear". It's one thing to read about something in a history book, it's quite another to see it with your own eyes.

I had the same feeling when I saw the crown jewels at the tower of London. Also, I've never seen something sparkle the way they did either, I had always figured it was just some sort of special effect added in movies... but nope those things sparkle like a thousand shafts of light it every direction, it is incredibly stunning.

you might want to fix your comment as you said George George III instead of King George III
When I was 13 in 1969, my Mum, brother and I went to England to visit family (I'm Canadian). We got to go into the palace and sign the guest book. It is something I'll never forget!

You forgot about that time Jacob and Evie Frye, known assassins, managed to crash a ball at Buckingham Palace in 1868. Fortunately they meant the queen no harm.

I say again; no one says "EMPAAAIRE" more british than Simon!
Edward Blore was known for his Blorish ways and was also very fond of his vittles. Time and time again he would walk up and down the chancellery while expelling gargantuan Flatulents that we’re so loud that the guards would rush to the main court yard believing that Napoleon and his armies were attacking the capital. In the end he had to be restrained and thereby the grand corridor was nicknamed “The grand Flatulent of Blores rumples” in the end he met his untimely demise while addressing the King 🤴 and it is said that his final Flatulent was so enormous that it blew the king 27 and a half feet into the air and broke the rear left leg of the throne. Unfortunately for Edward his finale seemed to have vaporised him as no sign of the architect was ever found. He indeed left a lasting legacy of the which can still be smelt to this day. Queen Elizabeth later developed breathing difficulties because of the virulent smell and has always tried to avoid spending more than 1 hour per year within the great hall. After the air had cleared the king landing back down on his broken throne the court was in shock to see that the kings clothes were blown completely off his esteemed body and a wide eyed look of terror on his startled face. Thus came the story of the “Kings new clothes” and a 1 penny stamp was promoted to commemorate the occasion. Then end.

He did, but was a hopeless architect. He didn't realise that the dome of the music room would be visible from the front of the Palace, so it had to be rebuilt. I looked at buying a Nash house in Wiltshire about 20 years ago. He had forgotten to put fireplaces in the entrance hall and staircase hall, and the attic windows looked straight into a stone wall because he forgot to put in openings for them.

Fun fact; When Buckingham house was being built the Duke of Buckingham was late in paying the builders of the house. The chief architect took The duke and his wife up to the roof and told them if they don’t pay up they’ll be thrown down.. surely enough they paid up.
I love you guys.

Apparently in June and July there are guided tours inside Buckingham Palace, when the Royals aren't there. And, no doubt one can only go on guided tours inside.

Good sir, not that I am trying to add to your immense workload and awesome channels, but have you considered a channel that talks about specific events? Perhaps this channel could be labeled as “Pivotal Moments”? Detailing not necessarily the key moments of history as a whole but key moments in history for a singular person or group of people. As you jokingly mentioned at the end of this video the ‘shoe throwing incident’...
