Bucket of death : soapy water vs hornets : dish soap on wasps

Ойын-сауық

In this video ‪@wasphunter7131‬ deals with a high up bald face hornet nest in a customers tree. I Utilize a gotcha sprayer attachment. Gotcha sprayers are a amazing tool to treat high up wasp nests without getting too close and getting stung or swarmed. I’ve used the attachment in the past on hornets and wasp but this time I give a better explanation of how it’s used as a effecting pest control tool

After being attacked by a nest full of insanely irate in astoundingly organized, what seemed and felt like a swarm of, ground wasps 2 years ago I went hunting for solutions. You were not the first video suggestion on KZread but you were definitely the most accurate, the most lethal, the most effective, and the safest practitioner of your particular art form. Oh, and by solutions I'm referring to murdering every last one of those little bastards. Finding their Queen and killing her while they stand by and watch, and subsequently digging up the rest of their underground hovel to joyfully repay them for their hospitality earlier that day. I unfortunately found the nest with the mower ball portion of the DR trimmer mower. Quite by accident. In all honesty where they were located, I would have instituted the age old mantra of "Live and Let Live". Upon whipping the ever-loving shit out of the entrance and first comb of their underground hovel they quickly and amazingly sent out a call to arms and we're intelligent enough to know that it wasn't the responsibility of that machine that attacked them but mine and mine alone. It's still amazes me how quickly it happened. And how relentless they were in their assault and their pursuit of me. I've seen videos, just like everybody else has of people being attacked by wasps. How they flail, dance around, scream, yell, simultaneously beg and curse God .. I never understood the panic. 'Till that shit happened to me. And thanks to you, I will never be victimized by these useless insects ever again. I know what to look for. I know how to act around their nest while I'm prepping for their demise. And I am eternally grateful to you for not just providing what's considered a rarity on KZread. Useful and informative content.

I bought a can of Wasp/Hornet bug spray and read the instructions. Yeah I read the instructions. Anyways it says to wait till twilight or night to spray the hornets nest b/c the hornets all get back to the nest at night and is the most effective time for full and complete elimination. The next day there was absolutely no activity. And I cut the entire nest off the branch complete and whole and put it in a trash liner and that was it no mess no fuss. Maybe the soapy water works but man what a hassle.

I have been trying ammonia mixed stuff too! They breathe through their abdomen area!? Soak their back side & literally watch them smother! The soap does the same thing! I still rather pour gas down a hole for ground Yellowjackets! The liquid & vapor kills them. It’s fun to light it on fire too…. Honeybees… I try to leave them alone.🤘🏼👌👋🏼

  • @anon_y_mousse

I've heard that all insects have a hydrophobic layer that protects them should they be submerged and that soap prevents it from working which allows them to drown. If that's really true, then dunking the nest in a bucket of soapy water may be what did it this time over your previous attempt. Cool either way.

If I use a high pressure power washer with soapy water, will that take care of some wasps nests and I won't get stung? If not I can try to get a suit

So the soapy water worked because you dunk the nest in there and they drowned. Or when you sprayed soapy water on the ones on the branch did they die? Thank you for bringing us along.

Yeah, many of them just drowned. But soapy water spray does work; it foams up their breathing apparatus & they suffocate. I dripped soapy water on a mass of ants (basically the same anatomy as wasps) from a sponge once. Within minutes, zero activity.

I've sprayed wasps with wasp spray and watched them fly away, I hit them with the soapy water - they immediately fall to the ground, and die in about a minute.

I removed about 5 underground yellow jacket nests last year that nested in an old chipmunk or mole hole. They seemed really docile and i didnt get stung once somehow, sprayed them and dug them up by hand mid day lol not one of them landed on my bee suit or attempted to attack me really odd..

Soapy water will kill the snot out of them. Every year I get tons of fist sized starting under edge of my roof... A 32oz glass of cold tap water, and 3 or for drop of dish soap and just splash the nest. Its instant... They fall to the ground and fold up.

You're supposed to throw the bucket of soapy water onto the nest. I wonder if a soap cannon would work better? Of course need a pressure washer.

For the 3rd summer now wasps are outside my house and by my back door flying around like they want to get in alll day. They do get in sometimes and it’s so scary. I can’t find a nest anywhere. What should I do?

Though I do know soap water works. This just seems like more of a drowning lol
