Some things I'd like to see in the full release or possible future updates would be; Additional chests with challenging effects. The way Posideon's Sorrow gradually fills your ship with water, I'd like to see chests which add additional challenges, like maybe a blood filled chest which attracts sharks until you turn it in, making going in the water whilst it's on your ship much more dangerous, or a ribcage clad chest which summons a skeleton crew periodically which you then have to fight off. Non-hostile giant creatures. Specifically, the idea that you could be sailing along towards your destination, when one of your crew calls out an island ahead, which isn't marked on the map. You weigh anchor to go and explore, then you see an enormous, galleon sized flipper rise out of the water, and the island is in fact the back of a gargantuan turtle. Greater weapon variety. This will probably be included, but I'd like to see some additional weapons like the Duckfoot pistol, axes, billhooks, harpoons; it might be a bit samey if everyone can go armed the same. swanky custom weapon skins would be nice too. Hostile plant life. Cos I'm a sucker for man-sized venus fly traps in fiction.

Zombiewithabowtie they have to have the kraken chest, they have to, the reward is gigantic but the kraken relentlessly hunts the carrier of the chest.

I think they need to have more than just 2 boat types, they need 4 maybe, another that can hold 4-6 players and one that can hold 6-8. These could be on different servers to the smaller boats to balance the game. I also think that there needs to be different looking ships of the same class, for example, the 2 player ship may have a different layout to another 2 plalyer ship, but still have 2 cannons and one sail

I think there should be one ship bigger than the galleon and one in between the sloop and the galleon. For me it seems like the gap between them is a bit too big

Tbh they just need one in between since the galleon really is made for 4-6 and the smaller one is 1-2. They could just make one in between that's like 2-4 and change up some stuff to balance them all

On the note of the treasure hauls that require more than one trip, I believe Rare stated in an interview that one of the main reasons they added such quests was to influence teamwork behind rival crews, not just to make loot hauls require multiple trips/ships. They wanted Sea of Thieves to be a game that was appealing and approachable to all players, and didn't want the game to be completely competitive. As such, it is entirely possible to try and form alliances with rival pirates (both parties willing) to split the loot on larger quests.

I think it would have been neat to see factions of some sort in this game. Maybe you're out at sea getting attacked by a ship and someone from your same pirate group happens to see it and comes by to save you. Just a thought

Rather than guilds and stuff, it would be pretty cool if there were AI fleets (Merchant men, or Man of Wars hunting for pirates) and you could temporarily join up with a few other crews to take on these fleets. You would do this by getting a quest from an island or something. The problem I see with having factions/guilds is that the game is already horribly balanced for people with small crews, I think this problem would become even greater if there are groups of multiple ships with multiple full crews sailing around together. Remember this game has a progression system similar to survival games like rust, you can lose loot and supplies to just about anyone and it could be really frustrating to progress if you encounter fights you have no hope in winning.

StepOverGod smaller crews arent horribly balanced. Me and one friend were sailing around and sunk quite a few 4 man crews. The smaller boat has some advantages over the bigger one. Atleast in my experience

Clearly you must have faced quite a few idiots. There is no reason why a 4man ship should lose unless they crash or do some other stupid shit. The fire power and man power difference is way to huge for you to win otherwise.

I feel some small ships should be helpful as well for they can maneuver quicker . Perhaps a medic ship to pick up any people that fall off and get them back to their gallions. I hope it's some real strategic struggle

Ha, every single time I sign on we find the first willing group of 2 on a small ship to become allies with! I usually jump on board and make one of them go back to the galleon so we all have communication to each other in some manner. I plot the courses for both ships and the galleon usually goes for the bigger riddles and the small ship will do the same path usually but stay in sight and ferry people back and forth to the nearby islands objectives so we can max out our efficiency. We help the other 2 get their quests done and they help us and we all share the treasure! The last day of scale test I had 8 explosive barrels on the small ship and we were chased by a galleon and a small ship, of course the small ship thought it was all free for all but we were baiting him and the big ship was chasing him! Just having the maneuvrability and communication man we were able to put our enemies in some seriously hurting spots. But dropping 8 barrels off the back and watching them explode in a giant chain is gold.

See if you can sink a ship by filling it up with puke

What an original title these developers have came out with!! You chose a great path to travel down with this game, Jackie Boy. All kids want to be a Pirate when they're growing up & then a game like this will truly bring their "inner child" out and allow one to truly enjoy themselves. With videos such as yours and the great commentary I must say that this will be some epic scenes for sure!! Can't wait to play this game as I have pre-ordered it for $59.99 and hopefully they keep the game strong forcing players to actually interact with one another.

I think RARE are waiting to see how popular their servers are and I hope they do community challenges not just the quests . Also , since its a live service game factions war is something we really need !! Like players form/join factions and take on each other for challenges.

Hi Jack you spoke about in this video about server instances migration of 15-30 mins so that there is other player ships experienced in your game. I have been playing on the Xbox One since May and in the a game I played for a duration of 2 hours I didn't come across another ship?

Death by a thousand buckets... how diabolical.

I reckon they should add 4 player Dungeons to the game as an additional layer to end game. Something like a pirate cavern in the vein of Blackrock Depths or something. Add a swashbuckler class that can tank and an alchemist that can heal and I feel like it could be a lot of fun!

I'm going to keep an eye on this game, I am still using Windows 7 and don't really want to update. But if it looks good after release I might update.

I was eh on this game before. But pirate raids? That sounds pretty epic actually. The only thing I dislike is not being able to upgrade gear/loot/boats. I would want to turn my found treasure in for coin and then upgrade my cannon's or buy another sail. Maybe a better musket. Oh well. Looks interesting to say the least

You should be able to find chests that have customizable clothes that you cant find in stores
