It killed your test with ease...worth every penny
I loved the look of these when they first released pics before blade show. If not for my unjustified aversion to single scale frame locks, this review would have certainly sold me. Not perfect, but I do love a Buck! Thanks for putting it through a test!

I agree. Symmetry thing for me.
Excellent review and testing! Thank you for your work!! Awesome!
I feel like this is more heavy duty of a knife. If anyone can get the heat treatment right it's Buck/Bos . I've been impressed with S45VN. Great video
I'm impressed with the steel it looks like it's pretty well heat treated
it reminds me of the Kershaw Piston a lot
Great review, and gloves please😁
I’ve been looking forward to this review! You nailed it as usual… great overview and test!
Just nabbed in for $117 at Midwest USA
This would be a great knife at about $125. For $180 I’d expect a Ti frame lock these days. Do love the steel choice. Hope they keep this up and continue to improve the design.

With the LE/ military discount you can pick it up for $110, just join a department and get a cheaper knife
Thanks for sharing
Man that's a lot of nitpicks. It's a kick-ass knife.
It is very reminiscent of a Ray Laconico design with those lines. This is such a nice looking design, quite a departure from most Buck designs.
Nice, fair review Nick. Buck is still making quality knives, but hasn't figured out their pricing model, in my opinion. As you found, the behind the edge is always thick on Buck knives. I don't know if their afraid to make a slicey blade, or if their too stubborn to change with the times. 🤘👊

i think it has to do with their consumers. they be harder on knives than most of us deep in the community, using them to pry and scape. Not sure but with a warranty as good as they offer they may be doing thicker grinds to offest warranty claims? if this is so they should rethink that tact.
Ill stick with my cold steel code 4 with it's awesome hollow grind in s35vn lol. Yeah it's made in Taiwan but it's definitely got a awesome heat treatment just as good as Buck knives. I don't see the point of paying so much for this one just because it's American made plus the code 4 has a way better lock
Thanks. Good points and.... vocabulary.
Ooh. I actually like that clip a lot. Aesthetically speaking, and in use as well.
After watching too many knife review videos that really are about the reviewers YT ego and or presence, I like the way you do it Stassa23. Wanted a Buck in the collection and the onset was what I ordered.
I had to look twice buck in S45VN no offence intended too buck fans I’m just so use to seeing the classic old buck in 440
Keep trying Buck, you are headed in the right direction, but you have a far piece to go.
AG Russell Knives has them at $150 so if want to get one hurry before they change the price. I’m going to get one if they stay at that price. I’ve missed watching knife channels.
Hey bud, just grabbed one new for $117. Worth it at that price despite the issues?
Where is this guy getting his pricing for the competitive options

What do you mean ? It’s been a while since I did this video so I’m not sure what your referring to.
It looks like a solid work knife. Not a slicer at that bte thickness, but for a hard use knife, you wouldn't want it to be. As long as it's sharp, it will cut. A bit high for a SS g10 flipper, even with the upgraded steel, but I guess that's subjective. To each their own. I have yet to try out any S45VN yet. Looks like a decent enough steel for most peoples use. I have quite a few different steels in the collection, but none of this yet.
I got one in last week and returned it the same day. The grind on mine was terrible. The edge had a flat spot and the detent was terrible. I keep trying to give buck another chance but they just keep disappointing

They need to overhaul their machinery according to people who have been there. They still work on equipment from the 1960’s and it’s showing now. Way to many high end knifes from Small USA manufacturers who produce amazing knifes at this price.
If this was 100 or 120 I'd be all over it.
For some time now I have not been able to understand why buck doesn’t pay closer attention to the knife community with regard to trends and what works and what doesn’t. All of the great info out there about what makes a great pocket clip and they still struggle at times, not surprised that the blade grinds are slightly off.

Exactly. Not only pocket clip, but many other issues as well. It doesn't seem to be that expensive to address these issues...just attention to those details.

@@chrisreuther4546 I'm wondering if we knife people couldn't massively send periodic messages (email, social media) to them (a massive one time barrage of messages, but probably better a steady stream/drumbeat of messages telling them to improve this/that...we potential buyers of their knives)if this couldn't make them budge? I know youtube knife channels have been doing this, but imagine many more of us contacting them directly? Worth a try?

@@gaberoo9099 the thing I have noticed in some groups… when you are critical of things like this they say you are a hater or negative. Most of the time that’s not the case… people just want to see things done better

@@chrisreuther4546 Absolutely agree with you Chris (reason why I am very careful when I give negative comments and when I do, they are constructive criticisms meant to make a product improve). I've never been called that but maybe it's because I haven't been around the knife community that long and not made too many comments. Most folks want to have products come out great and wish they were tweaked enough to make you want to buy them (no hate here).
if they thinned it out to 25 it would still be tough but would make me feel better about it. Also lockup is too deep from the getgo.
Well done
Stassa, I worried about your left hand in the stabbing portion. It would be safer to clap down the wood plank instead of using your hand. 👍
Seems kinda pricey for what it is🤔🤦♂️🤷♂️
I like the knive, but then again I'm Buck nut.
Great Review, thanks for doing it!
That poor freak but I mean if your gonna mod a knife like that you picked the right one with that name.
Ouch don't think so Buck
I would not use my knife on metal.

Metal is definitely not the best thing to cut with your knife edge
This is a $115 knife until they make it in titanium. My 2 cents.

I agree I said about $125 because of the S45 but yeah somewhere in this range would be perfect.
