People need to look more at the good side of all cities and not just western european cities. All cities have flaws. Eastern european cities should be more positively promoted like the rest of the cities. Sadly people are brainwashed and only shown the bad side of eastern european cities. It needs to change at some point.

{wow this video remind me alot my stay in Romania was so fun and motivating. Bucharest isn't a european attraction-city, not care much about tourism. Also as Romania, even the country have many good potentials - just in sleep mode. This video perfectly showing how lower the standard in Bucharest as the european average..

You went to Bucharest freshly after the revolution, of course that the people struggled a lot. In 2000, Romania had a GDP of only $37.28 billion, but today Romania has a GDP worth over $292.04 billions. That's a great progress. Romania is slowly recovering after the damage done by the communists. Slowly, but steadily.

Romania would have been in a much better situation economically if Ceausescu wasn't remove, we are in debt now and have almost 0 production industry compared to what we used to, we import more than we export, we lose money by every year and population, the young population especially, Romania's future is doomed to be a colony, we have Austrian companies that own our natural resources through privatization, our lands are bought by foreigners, we are in a sad situation and not getting better as a nation.

it looks messy because he was mostly in the stereotypical "city center" where a lot of youngsters and the more rowdy people usually go, especially at night, and mostly because its in winter and the snow was melting and it looked dirty. in summer and spring and even in autumn it can be very gorgeous. it's unfortunate the OP didn't go to other more hidden places in the city center tho

How sad it is to look at this poor city today and when I just remember what a world metropolis Bucharest was at the time of President Ceausescu and how happy and materially secure the people of Romania were. Today, everyone is left at the mercy of big crime. Europe made its free slaves out of the Romanian people.

not that i like communism, I m totally against any totalitarian regime but we are the Mexic of Europe! Prostitution, lack of culture and education are promoted. The most corrupted, idiot, stupid and low you are the most desirable you become for the society. Austria Fuc*k as exactly as they want, hey cut our trees, the people who try to do something ..well is not hard o imagine what happens with them... not mentioning the 6000 milion tones of toxic waste that they send with love to Romania:)))) and our goverment is "blind" together with a deaf mute president. the energy from our loving austriac neighbours is on the same level with the forests they destroyed and after doing all this they even said Romania don't have the criteria to be in Schengen:))) I mean after you fu"ck a whore why to want to take it with you? So they have a point:))) So yeah, even if I didn't catch the communism and ceausescu after I saw in 30 minutes 20 big tracks with our trees on the road and trains going to Germany, i m pretty sure people were much happier back then...And no we are not the slave of Europe, we are their whore of Europe!

Provincialii frustrați urăsc Bucureștiul . Fiind un oraș atât de mare , este normal să existe poluare , gândește-te puțin , din 2 mil de locuitori și peste 2.5 în cursul săptămanii , există între 1.5-1.6 mil de mașini prezente. Aproape toată România este poluată din păcate , București fiind pe primul loc , urmat de Iași , Cluj Napoca și Timișoara . Îți spun sincer , din 2010-2011 nu am mai văzut niciun câine al străzii și sunt adeptul plimbărilor in aer liber, ce s-a întâmplat din păcate cu femeia de la Lacul Morii este un caz izolat , cel mai probabil câini lăsați în șantier sau ceva . Iar gunoiul ? Nu există oraș mai curat în România , dar oricum , să sperăm că nu vi niciodată aici . Gunoi ar exista dacă ai veni tu aici 🤣 îți iubești țara de nu mai poți . Seară bună .

Trash everywhere? I think you haven’t seen Rome, Paris, London, Berlin, Brussels, Amsterdam, Madrid… and even Zurich, which are all much dirtier than Bucharest. Also, the stray dog problem doesn’t exist since 2013. The worst thing about the city is the traffic. Other you enumerated are schizophrenic exaggerations.

There haven't been any stray dogs for a while in Bucharest and as for pollution, the level is below Iasi and Brasov. Indeed it requires better maintenance especially in the historical area but we put our hopes in the current mayor to fix what has been neglected in over 30 years.
