Gabe Chapman Sonic maybe but Knuckles can be salvaged! He needs his own game and series, the Sonic name has been forever tarnished with that 360 XBOX game that came out, and also Sonic 4! Which is really a remake of the original over 20 years ago lol!

FunkMastaMegaFlex LOL so true, too bad they tarnish Knuckles Legacy a bit by making him a useless side character in the recent games. Back in the day he was a bad ass character in the Sonic and Knuckles pack that can glide and climb walls (he was way too fun to use). At least he is going to look tougher in Sonic Boom.

Mario Herrera Um. That's the thing. It's really old. You've probably already seen it. Dragon Ball Z original series Dragon Ball was based off of it. Son Goku, Wukong, Sun Wukong. Just a few of the names the monkey character has gone by in various retellings.

It looks more like Bubsy in fractured level design.

I think that the reason you have to *run past* the switch to turn it green is because it's basically a reskin of the switch from Bubsy Claws Encounters. Running past the switch flips it to the right or left depending on your direction, which makes sense. Here, it doesn't. It's just a block with lights.

The first Bubsy was a really good game actually. The controls can take some getting used to but once you get past that learning curve it's a really enjoyable game. One of my favorites. It has great music, huge levels with lots to do, the levels have a lot of color and variety to them (something my mother loved about the games because she liked games that were full of color), and it was a really long game. The password system meant you could pick up where left off and there was a great challenge in them. The bonus stages also a good draw for me because they weren't easy even when you knew how to get through them. They really put you to the test. The other games in the series were just...awful. horrendous but the first Bubsy will always have a place on my shelves.

The James & Mike Mondays has become one of my favorite things put out on youtube, so much fun to watch.

It's pretty funny how relaxed James is when playing compared to the Nerd

That jump at 14:32, in Bubsy 2D games, there is a certain height that if you jump from high enough, without gliding, you can die. Playing on the SNES Bubsy games has this too. This is probably one of the first platformers for me that introduced falling damage. Also, I don't think they are observant as much. That shirt is an extra life. In short, Bubsy is a sloppy Sonic game that tried to have too many 2D platforming elements that are precise but the controls aren't as finessed as Mario (due to the whole speed thing). Biggest thing, is the glide and falling damage. And the "trying" wise cracks. Also, level design is obviously not as good. Very busy to even quickly adapt to for speed (but it would keep gamers on their toes... literally).

Wow, it was a pain to just watch that. :D

Is that Rob Paulsen on Bubsy's voice? I know he did the voice for the TV show pilot, but what about this game?

Can't forget Hobbes... one of the greatest, but still an orange cat. I guess there's a knack to fitting just the right notes into a cartoon character for them to feel like they have a lot of personality, but it's simpler to just go with the sort of manic, in your face, "hey, look at this!" type of character, too, if you want quick cash from kid's gullibility.

There were 2 on Genesis..... And I actually loved them both. Took forever to figure out I could use items in 2 though...

There was another type of side-scroller on the PC back in the DOS days that was like the PCs answer to Sonic and Mario. Jazz Jackrabbit, think Bugs Bunny's wit, crossed with Sonic's speed, and the firepower of Rambo (complete with bandana). The game was awesome, I played the shareware episode and the sequel alot. Full of puns and awesome music. The guys who made the game later made Gears of War...

thatd be pretty cool.... Feed your head so you know theres another group called Jefferson Starship? that confused me for a second... coz they sing Nothings Gonna Stop Us Now.. and for a second I thought the same band sung both of those songs and they're way different.

I'm disappointed they didn't realize this game has fall damage lol Sad to say, bubsy was one of the first games I had for my Snes as a kid. Never realized it was such a bad game as a kid... I just thought I was bad. Turns out it was just the game.

Favorite fairy tales: The Snow Queen; East of the Sun, West of the Moon; and The Wild Swans.

I loved the shit out of the SNES Bubsy games... played them a ton when I was a kid.

Never heard of this game before. I played some "Bubsy" games in different consoles, but I've never played on the Jaguar. It was made by the same company that made the classic VCS/2600 console which is my all-time favorite. The title in the series was a reference to the segment "Fractured Fairy Tales" which was shown as part of the "Bullwinkle Show" made by Jay Ward in the 1960's. The first stage of the game was also a reference to a song by Jefferson Airplane called "White Rabbit" where the line says "Go Ask Alice".

I had to pause the video the moment I heard the words "Bubsy" and "Jaguar" in the same sentence. If that doesn't make the room smell like shit, I don't know what does.

I had Bubsy on the SNES. I was pretty young at the time, but I do remember it was one of the 5 games I gave my little cousin when he bought his own SNES.

Bubsy is high as a kite on that box.

Bubsy 1 on the SNES wasn't that bad. It was actually fun in some parts.
