I could've done with way less smiling & more holding serve. BuBenik was broken THREE times in the first set (Shelton 2xs) with 38% 1st serves won & 44% 2nd severs won. Simply unacceptable & unprofessional stats. It was Bubbly who stopped smiling first, shadily ranted at the umpire, complained about their poor communication as partners, & ultimately got Shelton's head in the game. Ben was being too much of a goofball in the beginning. He saw the small day crowd & thought he could deliver a phoned-in performance. He's TOO distracted with basketball. Not good.

Yes, but I did NOT like their level of play in the first set. Way too unprofessional. Broken 3xs with only 38% 1st serves won & 44% 2nd serves won is unacceptable. Bubbling was the first to show his displeasure during changeovers & got them back on track mentally. Shelly was being too much of a goofball. Not good. Their talent carried them through, but they need to take the SF more seriously.

Woke up early to watch the BuBenik Plague spread before the werk day. They're a promising doubles pairing for sure! Tennis Tea: Into the SFs, but the first set was ROUGH. Bubbly was FLAT on serve & ended up getting broken. He was also way too passive on return with rusty volleys in the net & other feel shots that floated in the air for easy put aways by the Malbecs. Benjamina was a hot mess! Shanking returns, dumping BHs into the net. Bent was broken TWICE in the opening set. More sloppiness carrying over from his impatient & unfocused loss to Z3. No range or rhythm on serve or return & yet Belton was WAY too giggly & smiley for my liking given what was transpiring. Maybe it was all the days off after losing early, but neither player was dialed in & taking it seriously in the first set. Their service percentages were unprofessionally LOW considering the Evitas were much more focused, but not redlining to beat them. How bad? Horrific! 38% 1st serves won & 44% 2nd serves won. Simply unacceptable. You could tell Bublé is older & a parent because he took the lead in getting BuBenik back on track. Sashay's smiles were the first to disappear towards the end of the first set while Benny remained more outwardly jocular. Alexis Bubbled over during the changeover & threw shade towards Aurally Retort for never bothering to get down & check a couple "close" debatable marks. She took it well. Sasha then made a sly reference to the Money Carload SF & Tourtilini's controversial missed call against Janhip that subsequently landed her in the umpiring doghouse stuck on early doubles duty. Furthermore, Bubble Tea more directly brought up (Faith) Evans yelling at Mo' Lay It on Me during the Brit's R1 battle against FoeNinny saying, "Drama! Tennis Tv. Ha ha..." etc. Needless to say, Shelly was cracking up at the shady rant, but MORE importantly, he got the message: his partner was NOT happy with their level of play. As the pressure of their sloppiness mounted, there was some disagreement from Bubbling about what their intended plays were. After realizing they weren't being as clear with each other, in the 2nd set, BuBenik made a conscious effort to improve their communication on court. Venus talked about this on her YT channel. Communicate MORE was one of the very first pieces of feedback they got from their opponents after losing early at USO as youngsters in doubles. In addition to bothering to do the bare minimum by holding serve, this shift in clearer communication made ALL the difference in enabling BuBenik to win their match.

Didn't mean to hurt your feelings and btw that's just my opinion. I feel doubles is just silly and should be phased out. Hardly anyone cares about it and rightly so.

@@EvilestGem It's not going away, because most recreational players play doubles not singles, so it's important for people to see what the best doubles play should look like. Also, some of the best matches at United, Davis, & Laver Cups end up being the deciding doubles & MX matches.
