I am 75 years old and have never had this reaction to a group. I have lived through, Elvis Presley, the Beatles, Michael Jackson and many more and have never felt this way (despite really liking MJ). The not only are all extremely talented but what I really love is their kindness and humility. I hope they all get all they wish for.

56 and almost exactly the same, I "discovered" BTS by accident almost 5 years ago and loved them after the very first video. I the other group I adore is Coldplay and have since Parachutes but I adore BTS WAY beyond that. I have a feeling I'll always love them regardless of how much my family teases me for liking K-Pop! People don't get that they are deeper than their music, sad really. My bucket list now includes traveling to Korea to see one of their concerts, would also love to see one close by where I live. 💜 I also love Day 6, TXT, KNK and The Rose all great groups!

the pandemic changed armys, many armys have brought that american concert mindset where they just stand silent and dead and watch live performances like it’s a movie and not real people in front of them. that is why they don’t even know or sing the fanchants, they buy tickets without caring, they treat bts like the lazy western performers they’re used to and don’t under bts concerts are the only place on earth to engage in reciprocal love between fan and crowd. unless army rectifies this, bts concerts after 2019 will continue to be dead, bring back people that remember bts have kpop roots and you don’t just go to their concert not to sing or fanchant.

This song is an emotional vibes and sung by BTS guys are super cool and deeply impressed everyone in the hearts and minds massively..... Amo mucho estás canción hubiera querido estar hay, para muchas de nosotras pareciera que army no gritaba ni cantaba, pero una amiga mia que fue dice que si gritaron no se escucho mucho por los cubrebocas, pero dieron lo mejor para poder cantar, otra de las razones por las que no se olle mucho el fanchart o la parte que tiene que cantar army, es por qué muchas que fueron a los conciertos eran armys nuevas o que cuando se volvieron armys antes de la pandemia no habían ido aún concierto por eso no sabían mucho como manejar su entusiasmo yo creo que cuando volvamos a las giras se empezará a sentir el ambiente en los conciertos que teníamos antes así que por favor no las juzgemos si nosotros hubiéramos estado hay sabríamos que dimos lo mejor Pero sin duda es una canción increíble cada una 💜

‘BTS 병역 면제 ?’ 국가의 힘만으로 노력하였다면 대한민국을 세계에 알리는데 지금의 위치까지 도달할 수 있었을까? 그 역할을 담당하는 자리에 현재 BTS 문화가 큰 부분을 차지하고 있다. 단순히 문화만이 아닌 여러 부문에 파급효과는 산술적 계산으로 어렵다고들 한다. 이런 BTS 현상이 머지않은 어느 시점에 희석되거나 와해된다고 한다면 어떻게 될까? 대한민국 남자로 태어나 국방의 의무를 지는 것은 너무도 당연한 일이다. 그러나 BTS 그룹이 입영하는 것만이 의무를 다하는 것이고 그것을 거스르면 대의를 저 버리는 것, 국가가 병역정책문제에 모험을 거는 그런 것이 될까? 병역 면제 문제를 두고 찬반 논란이 되는 과정을 지켜봤다. 더 좋은 방향을 기대하였지만, 결과는 아쉬웠다. 잠시 다른 한 가지 얘기를 하고 넘어가고자 한다. 10여 년 전 이라크전 당시 파병을 놓고, 파병 시 우리 장병의 목숨을 담보해야 하고 이라크와 국교에 문제 그 국민과 심한 갈등 등의 문제가 수반되고, 파병 거절 시 경제 우방 미국과 경제적 손실 등 어느 쪽을 선택하던 긍·부정이 존재. 이에 갑론을박 온 국민이 분열되고 있을 당시 모 대학교수의 주장이 떠오른다. 국익을 위해 경제 우방 미국 편에 서야 한다는 함의가 포함된 것으로 “대한민국이 언제 그렇게 고매한 인격 국가였더란 말인가”라면서 파병 옹호를 강력주장했던 말이다 당시 이 말에 나는 충격을 받았다. 국가이익 앞에 국가 체면, 윤리, 장병 목숨 담보, 그 모든 것을 대가로 던질 수 있다는 것이다. 무엇을 위해? ‘국가이익을 위해서 !!’ 그럼, BTS 병역 혜택(문화산업 현상태유지-국익)을 주는 일에 앞에 열거한 그 위험천만한 많은 것들을 담보로 잡아야 하는가? 아니다. 지금 우리에게 BTS 현상이 없었다고 가정해보자 그리고 국가에서 엄청난 인적투자, 물적 투자를 하면 BTS 현상이라는 그런 유사한 문화산업을 잡을 수 있었다고 예상했다면? 아마도 물불 안 가리고 엄청난 인, 물적 자원을 투자해서 잡고야 말았을 것이다 그럼 현실은 어떤가? 국가에서 큰 투자도 노력도 하지 않았음에도 이미 그 BTS 현상이 진행되고 있다 이 웬 굴러들어온 선물이냐? (자체적 노력은 일단 접어두고) 우리 역사상 보기 드문 세계무대에 국가 위상을 더 높이는 데 지대한 영향을 주고 있는 현재의 BTS 문화가 멈춰 서는 일이 있어서는 안 된다. 모 대학 교수의 주장처럼 국가적 모험과 엄청난 희생을 감수하고서라도 국가이익(예:BTS 현상)이라는 그 실체를 잡아야 할 판인데, 이미 잡아 놓은 그 조직을 와해(?)시킬 수도 있음을 지켜보고 있어야 한다.…? 형평, 공평 얘기한다. 대통령부터 통장, 주민까지 모아 놓고 떡 하나씩 나누어 주는 것이 공평인 것인가? 봉급도 일하는 전 국민 상대로 동일 금을 일률 지급하면 공평이 되고 형평의 원칙에 맞는가? 진정한 공평과 형평은 능력과 공로에 대한 걸맞은 대접이다. 보도에 ‘BTS 원포인트 혜택’ 말이 떴다. 이 말씀은 원포인트 관점이다 과거 민주진영과 공산 진영 사이 체제의 우월성을 강조하며 대립할 당시 민주진영 국가가 비교될 수 없는 경제적 우위에 있었다. 그렇게 발전한 원인을 전문가들이 모여 분석했다. 효율성 강조, 합리성 추구. 세 번째가 다양성의 인정이었다. 원포인트 관점은 발전을 위한 다양성에 반하는 관점이다. 물론 모든 의견이 다 맞을 수 있다. 어느 쪽에 비중을 더 주느냐가 다를 뿐. 77년 7.21 창원 예비사를 거쳐 경기도에서 33개월 보병으로 나는 많은 고생을 했다. 지금은 노인연금을 받으니 노인이다(그래도 일은 하고 있지만.) 그렇게 고생했던 한 사람으로서 BTS 병역 면제에 표를 던지고 싶다 대신, 지금도 잘해주고 있지만, 반대급부로 우리 사회에 그것도 어두운 곳에 또 다른 선행이 있었으면 하는 바람도 있고. 싱가포르, 또 다른 한 국가 (?) ‘우리는 BTS가 없었다!’ 그냥 아쉽다가 아닌 왠지 통곡의 목소리로 들린다. BTS를 향한 칭찬하는 세계언론들의 숱한 말들은 생략한다. ‘BTS !! ’ ‘하늘이 내린 대한민국의 역대 가장 큰 선물 중 하나다’ 이 사실을 부정하거나 반대의 목소리를 내는 사람은 그렇게 많지 않을 것이다. 대체 복무? 그것도 궁색한 혜택이다 문화 활동에 제약을 받는 것은 같다. BTS에 병역 면제가 목적이 아니다. 자기들 노력에 의한 것이기는 하나 아무튼 호의호식 세계를 무대로 잘 나가고 있는데 무슨 혜택을 왜 줘? 하여 그 그룹에 혜택을 주는 것이 목적이 될 수 없다. 다만 세계 속에 우리 문화산업을 지속 발전시키는 일에 걸림돌을 제거하자는 것이다. 각계각층의 상황이 다르고 의견을 모으기에 어려움이 많을 것은 당연하다. 그러나 현재, 세계를 선도하려는 우리 국가가? 현명하고 지혜로운 일에 두 번째 가라 하면 섭섭하다고 생각할 우리 국민이? 이 정도의 문제를 풀어 줄 수 없을까? 제도! 제도는 사람이 만드는 것이다. 쉽게 오지 않을 어렵게 차려진 만찬상을 잠시라도 물리쳐서는 안 된다. 다시 받지 못하거나 받더라도 원래의 상차림이 아닐 수도 있다 ‘국가이익!’ 이는 우리 모두에게 다시 안겨질 또 다른 선물이 아니겠는가?
