Exactly. In the autobiography that they released last year, they talked about this. Many idols from bigger companies, even junior idols, looked down upon them and didn't treat them as equals. Perhaps they didn't want to mention that in this interview as they were still not as successful as other idol groups at that time.

It is true that relationships would never be openly discussed, whether they would date a celeb or non-celeb. But at that time, they weren't hiding it as they were treated as outsiders, and like they said, they never trained at other companies, which a lot of idols have. That is how most idols are friends with other groups as they have trained with them or are in the same company. BTS didn't train in other companies, and the only other artist at their label then was a male singer.

38:13 They weren't trying to hide anything, when they were at music shows or award shows it was always just them, it was clear that they weren't friends with the other groups. They've already talked about this in their documentaries and even in their book, that at that time, artists and companies openly looked down on them at these events. Nowadays, there are very few idols (I'm not even saying the whole group) who are/remain friends with them. the vast majority of their friends are actors or friends who are not public figures.

Yes, the S Korean artists who are friendly to them are mostly not from the idol industry, but Indie musicians or older musicians who are not as worried about pressure from the industry. That's starting to change now that Hybe has acquired other lables and the artists on those labels are all part of the same company with BTS, which is the company BTS built from the ground up, so that other groups can socialize with them without getting in trouble from their company. Some of the younger idols are actually fans or were actually ARMY, like Huh Yunjin of LE SSERAFIM who ran an ARMY site before she was a trainee, and now just did a collab with j-hope, and some of the younger male groups are unabashed and gushy BTS fanboys who say they got into the industry because of them.

The thing about BTS that amazes me is they were never flops but they were underrated and looked down to because of their company and how they built hybe from the ground to the top brick by brick fun fact only BTS can unlock all hybe doors

@@VanefromUruguay no it's real their face IDs can unlock any place in the company we only found out because other groups in hybe keep complaining that they can't do that but I remember when hobie was alone in hybe he kept going places smoothly and everyone hate to enter hybe building because it's so difficult the security system is top notch

imo if someone is really a listener/enjoyer of music as they claim to be, I cannot accept any opinion of BTS they have until they have listened to The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Pt 1 and 2. I believe these two albums are the most distilled version of what BTS' music, vision and intention can offer to a fan. I cannot encapsulate in words how much I rely on this album to feed my soul as I pass through my 20s. Any experience you've had, of doubt or joy as a youth of today- it has been echoed in the HYYH albums. And you KNOW it's coming from a real place because you know what BTS has been through. That comforts me. When I listen to Nevermind, I can fully trust that Suga tells us to live fearlessly bc he's risked it all and lived through it. That's the beauty of BTS. There's no falsehood in their music.

I’m so thankful for you guys basically binging this series and always putting out new episodes, hope your schedule isn’t too exhausting, but you always show how much attention you’re paying, not only for the thing said in the episode, but also to ARMY in the comments. When BTS says they don’t have a lot of idol friends/getting their numbers, they’re not lying, they were looked down on by many idols for being from BigHit, the chart manipulation accusations, the fact they did true hiphop and didn’t exactly fit/follow beauty and idol standards in Korea, etc. To this day there are many K-pop acts who basically pretend BTS doesn’t exist, and that does have something to do with their labels “controlling” their image. There are exceptions but for the most part BTS aren’t often seen with idols from other companies, the ones they hangout with the most are TXT who are another K-pop group from BigHit, ppl often say they are BTS’ little brothers, one of their members (MOA forgive me i don’t remember their name) said they were at the exact concert in the Olympic stadium for this episode and that they remember being in the crowd and seeing suga cry and bow to his parents. If there’s one thing BTS are is honest, they’re honest when they’re down, when they get mistreated, when the company does something they don’t like, when they’re scared to do something, they always talk abt everything very openly with ARMY. And BTS, specially JK, LOVES to watch reaction videos to their songs and also fan-made compilations and stuff. JK, Jimin and RM even separately reacted to a song ARMY made for their 10th year anniversary last year in June during their livestreams bc ppl in their chats were asking for it

that's not true jungkook is friend with 97 liners (eunwoo, mingyu, jaekhyun, bambam) and jimin is friends with taemin , also tae is friends with minho, yoona, park bogum and his other actor friends and Jackson and RM were besties at one point

Jungkook is the only one where most of his friends are idols (Jimin could be counted as well, but he is extremely private so we don't really know much about his friends besides Taemin, Sungwoon and etc, so I'll say u could say JK and Jimin here). BUT, just because the others have 2-3 idol friends doesn't change the fact that *most* of their friends are underground artists, non-idol artists/singers, or other type of entertainers like actors, show hosts etc. If they do have idol friends it's mostly older ones as well, like Taehyung with Yoona (park bogum is an actor, not an idol, don't know what u meant there?), but the majority of his friends are actors.

I have watched the Rise of Bangtan a couple of times now but somehow I seem to have missed this episode. Thanks for sharing it with me. Love your thoughts and do come visit us in Australia someday...

Let's not denied the fact that Jungkook debut was for the US and UK, he himself said that, his promotions were HUGE since Seven release, in Korea the promotion was some how small, but he still accomplished everything he deserved, because he's Jungkook, talented, amazing singer and dancer :) His promotions were very different from other members and it's okay, everyone was targeting a different audience, don't be delulu and start a fight for nothing. Jungkook received a well support by Big Hit and his album was a success💜 Oh and just to be clear he didn't outsold anyone, every debut and album from the members was successful, making history with Lolla and stages by Hobi, Jimin being #1 Billboard Hot 100, DDay Tour, Indigo being a huge and successful album for critics and experts in music, Layover making history in Hanteo Album Sales and being #2 of best album 2023 in Billboard, etc etc Jungkook performing in Time Square with Golden and the biggest crowd, his song title charted amazing, it's still there. So no, they weren't competing against each other, they targeted a different audience for each album and make a successful debut as solo artist🤷🏻‍♀️

AS you go along, you will see almost everything in Music videos has meaning. I love the episode that shows their fun side. As suga says, They are not in their right minds. All 3 series, run BTS, In the Soop, and Bon Voyage is full of these guys letting loose. What's amazing is ARMY's would translate these things and post on youtube for army's that didn't understand Korean. Suga's family fought him every step of the way. This was the first concert his parents attended, and admitted he was right and they were sorry and proud of him. The more you find out about Suga, the more you will love him and admire his hard won strength. Bang PD realized early on that these kids were so much fun and video gems. hence they always had cameras on them, and staff was careful to edit out anything too embarrassing. I look forward to your reactions! Keep going. You nice. ( if ya know, ya know). 💜

FYI when these videos show the number of people going to a concert like: "LA 12,OOO" that's just for one night. BTS usually does two nights per location and sometimes even 3-4. So like two nights would be 24,000 paid seats.

You both mentioned how bad the F4 movie was but ignored the film's featured song playing in the background. You talked all the way through it and concentrated on the attendee counts at the concert destinations instead. RM's collab song Fantastic (feat.
