Спорт

behind-the-scenes edition: I demonstrate a few tips, tricks, and techniques that define my telemark skiing style, including 40 front / 60 rear weight distribution, foot pressure during turns, tele-slashes, and teleskiing backwards / switch.
that title is clickbait (cue the curmudgeons! you think that comment section is going to get mean?)

You’re clearly a powerful tele skier and have found a technique that works for you but for most folks (and especially beginners) your rear foot should be kept with the heel DIRECTLY under your butt. The front foot “slash” is an interesting idea! Never seen that one before. NICE tip for backward skiing! Thanks!

thanks for the comment! any chance you'd be interested in meeting up at Sugarbush for a little filming session? I'd love to build out these types of videos with more teleskiers and how they approach the technique. lmk!

Good stuff. I don’t think ASA teaches big toe - little toe any more. The concept always worked for me, and I still make myself think about it when I’m having a bad day and need to take it back to basics. For switch, I always have to remind myself, “uphill foot = flexed foot”. Tele skiing made me a better alpine skier. Now I haven’t alpine skied in a few seasons… so who knows, maybe I suck again! Either way, the training heels came off and are staying off for a while. 🤙

Love the channel!! Fantastic to see excellent telemark in difficult conditions. Try to copy the low stance with nice flow!! Curious about the equipment you have in all your videos. Off pist , in moguls, in the pist, and the differences. The skiis seem to be pretty long? Some general ski type advices would be nice. Thanks. Telemarker from Sweden!

As a fairly new tele skier this was super helpful. I'll have to watch it again once the snow flies here in the Midwest 😁
