Jin explained the inspiration behind his solo track Moon: “This song is about how the moon views the earth. I am the Moon, and ARMY is my Earth. Moon is much brighter than my previous songs because it holds a lot of love for our fans.” Everyone says I’m beautiful but my sea is all black. Following from the moon and earth imagery, it should be noted that only one hemisphere of the moon faces us - the other faces away. The Moon shows the same ‘face’ to the Earth at all times. The lunar far side of the moon, also known as the dark side, has only been photographed from spacecraft. Jin wants to show Army only his bright side, like the moon show us its bright side. 💜

btw for the moon live concert actually has the same concept as a movie/ book called "little prince". like the moon, rose and the fox it's from "little prince"

@@DestructiveMediaYT to go off this comment, “the little prince” is a french children’s book that is incredibly deep. I’d recommend looking it up on spark notes for a full summary/analysis as its characters are quite complex and offer a lot of insight to both the live performance and life in general. one of the key points though is that the main character, the “little prince”, falls in love with a rose on his home planet, but gets hurt and decides to travel to other planets. after visiting earth, he meets a fox who helps him realize that although there are many roses in the world, his love for his rose makes her unique. this is a very basic summary, but I hope it adds more insight to the live performance visuals!

Jin's love for Army is so big. He's fond of bringing multiple HEARTS IN ANY FORM during their concerts for armys. I love Jin's personality. The words used in this song is perfecr and I applaud Jin for giving this song justice, one perfect song for him and for Army.

Ranked by Rolling Stone in 2020 as the number 5 boy band songs of all time. It is a love letter to ARMY and the reason why ARMY Covered ARMY bombs with a moon cover for his Birthday in LA concert 2021. we are the earth and he is our Moon.

I was helping to mangle (make) some of those covers and I have one sitting on my ARMY bomb as I type this, lol. The entire event is such a beautiful memory because of how far our fandom will go to show our love/support for the boys with things such as Jin's birthday moon. Seeing his eyes get watery and Jin's shock as we sang happy bday drove home how special the bond is between them and US.

Jin as always, blowing out the water. It amazes me he still downplays how good he is. He really does not know how talented he really is.

I’m sure other army have already told you. The set of the stage, the moon the rose and the fox are references from the book “the little prince”. I screamed when I first saw the performance live (a virtual concert). My favourite person singing my favourite song with reference to my favourite book! It’s like Jin is meant to be my bias. The universe has spoken to me. On a more serious note with lyrics, Jin is always all about self-love. Meanwhile I think realistically to be able to love yourself, in truth you need to know you’re loved by others. We shouldn’t place our values based on what others think of us but we need to feel loved. Jin is giving us that love so reassuringly in that song. It’s like saying even if no one else in your life sees you, I (out of all people, WWH from BTS) see you and value you. I made a song just for you so please know that. THAT is all the significance of the song and it means SO MUCH. On top of that, it’s an upbeat song so this is a song that picks you up whenever you feel down.

💜 Jin 💜 The Little Prince💜

I don't know why but even though this is an upbeat song, listening to this always makes me cry.. i don't know why.. it's pulling a string in my heart..

I Love Moon because jin loves Army so much and because of Jin I love myself too. And no matter what happens I know that there are 7 men, who I will never meet, love me with all their heart. You can hear it in their songs.

i remember watching the two concerts online and starting to cry every time the earth came down and jin hugged it. I genuinely felt hugged, i felt all the love that this song conveyed, especially because it was 2020, in such a difficult time.

The rose and the fox are all part of Jin's favorite fairytale - The Little Prince!

This is certainly Jin's most upbeat song to date(not counting Supertuna lol), but something about it always comes across as rather bittersweet to me, since it leaves certain implications of how Jin might view himself and his life at times. I also can't help but connect that "Though they say I'm beautiful, my sea is all black" line to Jin's other song, 'Abyss', which refers to his depression as a sea(+ they've used the sea as a metaphor for hardships in quite a few songs), and that hurts my heart.

The staging of the song refers to "Le Petit Prince" (The Little Prince) by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. The backup dancers wear fox masks. In the story, the fox character summarizes the moral of the fable: “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly: what is essential is invisible to the eye.”

Contrary to the brightness with which it's sung so beautifully by none another than our Moon Jin, it never fails me to tear up from the sincerity and a kind of vulnerability it possess... "I'll stay by your side brightening up your dark nights" just cuts through the soul. Anybody would pick Moon over Earth if asked on various grounds but the way He has described the beauty of them both being together is gorgeous to say the least. If I start writing my favorite lines from the song I'll end up writing the whole song here... "I wonder if you'll be watching me right now, will you see all those dark scars there are" is one of them. 💜 Not to mention his diction and notes are so clear that I can literally hear each word he speaks whenever he sings. Adding to my very new korean vocabulary. You nice, keep going!🤘

This song is amazing and it describes perfectly the way Jin feels about ARMY. It’s very honest and vulnerable but it’s also happy. The lyrics are pure poetry 💜

@@DestructiveMediaYT When you do I'd recommend watching either a stagemix or the live from Seoul, and NOT the live from Japan which is the first one that pops up (it's a daytime concert + his hair is purple in it), since the sound is a bit off in it so you can't hear him as well. It's still a great performance ofc, but since there's better ones available I always find it unfortunate that people seem to always go for that one these days.

I am about to turn 60. I have been Army since I saw Idol. Rm intrigued me. I had to know about them. Jin’s song Epiphany was the song that cemented my love for them. They have made me find myself and love myself!

Moooooooooonnnnnnnnnn ❤️❤️❤️ Namjoon said that after Jin came to him for help in this song, he realised just how big Jin's love is for Army 💕 If you didn't know, here Armies are Jin' earth, while Jin is our moon. There's also a fun incident... When Moon came out, Armies kept asking NASA to make real Moon as Jin's moon 😂 Nasa responded in a tweet that Moon belongs to everyone, so it belongs to Jin too. Armies are so funny, like they don't know where to stop 🤭 I'm excited for the premier.

The lyrics are quite dark from Jin’s perspective and I think Joon’s words were that he never realised Jin’s pain until he listened to the lyrics of the demo.

Hmmm maybe ‘burden’ was the wrong use of word on my part. I guess I just meant that it’s an internet side to see how the relationship with Army effects Jin’s self esteem.

Jin is such a sweet angel, seriously!!! I am surprised you didn't catch the theme of the MV and you even comment on the fox. That was "The little Prince" one of Jins favorite books, and who doesn't love that book. A must on Philosofy and Ethics most of us HAD to read it and I think one of the few times I enjoyed reading something for obligation. Great book if you haven't read it please do, it makes you think. So adequate for the lyrics of this song, make unique things realised how unique they are.

This song has a lot of meaning for me, it reminds me of my granddad who passed away last year and this song just makes me feel so much love for him. Another incredible song by Jin is Abyss, if you haven't heard it I really recommend it!

Yes - haha I noticed most of the comments explaining the stage performance were from other countries 😂 Jin is The Little Prince. Le Petit Prins by Antoine de Saint Exupery - a great book with wonderful meaning behind everything. Basically- Jin is the prince, he travels from his planet to give his rose some space but lands up going back to her. The fox/foxes are the wild animal he learns to tame and has to take responsibility for on earth. The prince explores many planets and meets many people/things but learns what love is… not a bad reference if you think of it that way 💜

you should react to epiphany demo ver. that came out last month on the proof album! (the lyrics are just demos and short but i like the melody a little bit better than the original) and ofc the others demos like DNA J-hope demo ver, Still with you Jungkook acapella, Life Goes On V demo (its only 30 seconds, you should check out his Snow Flower with peakboy), Tony Montana by Suga (with Jimin ver.), Young Forever RM demo ver! (I think most of the demos are pretty short since its a demo before the released one so wont need to break it down, some of the lyrics dont rly go together with the ones released, at least the solo ones)

It was something like 3-6 am PST and I was pretty much delirious the second day - sitting alone in my living room with my ARMY bomb. One of my favourite BTS whole group songs with another brilliant analogy is 134340. 134340 being the planet number designation for Pluto. I'm patiently waiting for the day you'll finish reacting to the MOTS7 album. I love this song but his vocals kept improving after this. I assume this song is not your cup of tea. Check out 'So far away' by Suga ft. Jin & Jungkook. It's about Suga's struggle with depression in his early days and it's a heartbreaking song. The original version features Suran and is absolutely beautiful. But because I'm a Jin stan I prefer the version featuring Jin & Jungkook. I don't want to give any spoilers so I'll shut up. But I think you'll like this song. You can appreciate Suga's emotional rapping and Jinkook's angelic vocals that makes this song even more heartbreaking.
