No need to imagine that happening. Most Western groups do record songs in Korean when they plan a tour of Asia that includes dates in Korea. They do this for the same reason that BTS has recorded two Japanese albums, despite the fact that they're not Japanese, they don't speak Japanese, and they sing in Japanese with thick Korean accents.

+ Andrea They may have studied Japanese in school, and they may understand more than they speak, but their pronunciation is not great as a group. That said, their English is improving just from spending time in the US... and the Korean that's spoken in Seoul has lots of English mixed in; every time I'm there I notice more English in everyday conversation, and I don't think it's because people assume I don't speak Korean.

When Jimin and J-Hope were in Japan the last few days, a lot of Armys were saying they really improved their Japanese and their pronunciation, especially Jimin. It's true that nowadays, there's more and more English in Korean, but the pronunciation isn't accurate most of the time. But my point wasn't that they can speak perfect Japanese, because it's not true, but that making a Japanese album makes more sense since they know more Japanese than English.

+Andrea That's interesting news about BTS's recent Japan visits; I have not watched any new Japanese interviews or been keeping up with current media coverage in Japan. Of course you're right about the Korean- English using different standard pronunciation (the same is true in Japanese-English bc it's for talking to other Korean or Japanese speakers, not for talking to ppl who mainly speak English and speak no Korean or Japanese) but the boys have been practicing their English in America, probably with RM's help, and they're all memorizing helpful phrases that they pronounce with American (rather than K-English) accents.

Golden Sugakookie I can give the most important aspects of BTS - song lyrics that needs to be heard! I have never listened of a third generation K-Pop group to write songs about domestic violence: social issues, love to oneself, women appreciation: empowerment, and further so on. Their live performances - mind blowing! And their music videos that is well produced, so very creative, artistic, folk stories, and a message of the music video for their fans to listen. However, I'll give credit to not only for BTS, but to the directors, producers, editors, and furthermore. That is why, I signed the contract to be part of this fandom call: ARMY. (🤔😌😯😅😉😁😧☺️🤓🤗😘😇).

I'm sure I'm not the first to notice & comment on this but I really love how RM encourages the boys, with a smile and a head nod, whenever they try to speak English! The boys obviously don't feel that confident in speaking English but they always look at RM whenever they are answering a question for guidance and reassurance, and I think that's really sweet. :') xo

Plus bts have a lot of songs about the messed up Korean society so what better language to have it in than Korean. It seems weird if it isn’t in Korean. Nobody is pressuring BTS into English, it was just a suggestion. You can't compare them learning English to English speakers learning Korean because English is a business/international language. The fan was suggesting English because it would be better for them internationally. It's a fucking business take, it's good for the company. They can market and pander towards a larger audience and demographic. English speakers don't learn Korean usually because the Korean market is small. Please understand the fan was just trying to help their business.

Stop demanding English albums from artists when it’s not their first language. Several things get lost in translation and not to mention it puts immense pressure on the artist to write something meaningful and true in a language they can’t fully express themselves in.

jin's voice got me on the floor screaming me too even if I don’t understand the song at first hand. The person should just learn Korean or wait for armys to translate. I listen to their music before the lyrics came out. I just love their language and I’m learning to speak Korean. I prefer their music in their language because it’s them and their main language since they make it their own. They shouldn’t change anything for nobody. There is a different between learning and forcing them to change their language in their songs.

Personal opinion here: every interview in the US bothers me. They don't even try to find a way to overcome the language barrier, most shows don't even hire a translator and rely only on RM. I know he is the leader, but it feels like the other are being left out and it seems to me that even RM doesn't really like being the only one speaking and always tries to give the others the word. Ryan was literally asking the questions to RM, like, literally. So rude. They should put a translator on their headphones or something.

BTS are Korean artists and they forever will be, even if they make a US debut. Korean is their first language and only Namjoon is fluent in English so please don't ask them to make music in English. I don't understand Korean but I don't want them to make music in English because Korean are their roots
