BTS // From Nobodies to Legends REACTION

I like this video on BTS much better than the last one. This went deeper into the hard work and perseverance that the guys went through. It also highlighted the positive and emotionally rich message that they spread. It is lazy to presume that they are just another Kpop group fad that has no real depth. These guys worked hard for what they have and deserve all the credit.

As you said... lazy journalism. We keep dealing with this even with xenophobic media, blatant prejudice, and condescending tones in articles. It's quite rough, but we move forward with a strong mindset and positivity. There's different reasons why people love them and writing it down... it's going to take me some time. To make it short: music really transcends language. With them and ARMYs, I've found commonality and I've learned different things. For example, they have launched a global project (Connect, BTS ) to connect 5 cities (London, Berlin, Buenos Aires, Seoul and New York) and 22 artists across the globe and their statement was: "“This project is especially meaningful to us because it truly represents diversity and creates a collective, positive message for the world that we value.” Well, just wanted to say thank you for reacting to this video and learning more about them. They have a new single coming out on January, 17 and their new album release is on February, 21. Have a good day!

Their mesage “Love myself” is not a promotion but real thoughts because they actually went through a lot as an idol that they started to doubt themselves and became insecure. This love yourself album series is actually healing for them.

The West does not know how to process BTS/their achievements, and it shows! It's kind of funny to watch the media try, but also hell of frustrating. There was actually a very well thought out video done by "bby gang" called, "BTS vs. KPOP: a video essay" that covers their success, rise to fame, and how they got there. I would recommend it over most professionally done videos any day. It's honestly pretty brilliant! If you want to know more, you should check it out! Just wanna say that although their message is one of the huge reasons they are so huge, but at the end of the day it's always the music. Please don't underestimate the music. It's a combination of a lot of things, but the songwriting is so top notch. They can do/say all these amazing things, but if their music isn't good then they wouldn't be where they are. Plus its because the men themselves are incredible people.

But I think the music also says carries the spoken message. I agree though that it's hard to make that clear. It's the sheer volume and quality of the music and spectacle of their shows but also because underpinning that, the whole BTS package is so consistent that the fans become and remain so loyal

Suga once said that it was like having a music field, each one brought something and the producers gathered or corrected everything. And he said that k pop is an amalgamation of music, lyrics, visuals, video clips, choreography and many other details. For me they did it all and expanded the frontiers of it in all fields

Same DT. Same. Lazy journalism and just lack of respect for them. If they actually respect them as real artists, they would believe there is more to them and therefore will do real research (the information is out there). It’s easy to just slap a label and stereotype on them and just get clicks for mentioning their name. I’m really glad you watched this and get to understand they are more than what people assume.

The western media likes to paint this superficial image regarding bts, that they’re this popular bc it’s new and different and their success is due to lack of American bands. That couldn’t be further from the truth. As you’ve seen what makes bts have this major impact is their message. A lot of groups can have nice songs and cool choreographies but not all have this complex message. Bts began telling their life story through music, through lyrics and videos. All their albums exist in a dialogue with each other telling a story, a story of trauma, desperation, dreams, self love and acceptance. They’re honest and relatable, not in a forced way but a sincere one. I like how you could see the lack of essence in the last video, western media has some lazy journalism, we had real issues with the white media as they’ve kept discriminating bts and being racist

Thank you for the appreciation n understanding n 1 of the reasons why we r being loud of the western (n sometimes eastern too) media.. Just yesterday bts launched connect bts a project funding by them of arts projects in 5 cities and their main goal is to send positive message to the world thru arts but some of the headlines are misleading n invite trolls to ridicule them. Of course ARMY come but it really frustrating (not again 🙄) to face this, it never ending for us..

Actually every groups in Kpop works very hard especially before they debut they have to spend many years as trainee,so when the time comes company will debut them so in korea if u r nt frm the big 3 company(SM, JYP, YG) it will be hard from the start to gain fans and popularity. This is why BTS were different from them, they really start from the bottom, works even more hard than others and finally after all those struggles for years they rise and see how far they fly now, we Armys were really proud to see them success and we really love them as human not because they are artist or idol. Hope to see more reaction frm you about BTS then u will more understand why we love them so much^^

Its the message, the artistry, the connection we feel with them, and of course the music. They are insanely creative and talented they write their own lyrics to portray how the feel and we relate to them. And the music is amazing when i first became an army do you think i looked at the lyrics or meaning? No. Because for music there's no language barrier if it sounds good and feels good then you like it whether its in japanese, gaelic, or afrikaans don't matter. Then when i learned the lyrics i also learned they aren't just trying to make a good catchy song they want it to mean something. The way their mvs are, are like literal movies with storylines and hidden meaning. Other content they give at award show connect with the mvs and we have to try a piece it together ourselves. They always want to think about deeper meanings. And to never take things in life at face value. Which is amazing.

The more you dive into bts , you see their more then just a kpop group / boyband . Their a MOVEMENT !! While most artists , rappers and singers only talk about partying , sex , drugs , toxic love in their music , BTS does things different. I’m a 23 year old Asian male and is very inspired by them. They work hard to use their music to inspire change, challenge societal stereotypes & norms , spread positivity. They have tackle social issues : mental health and suicide. Korea is a very strict conservative country and never takes mental health problems serious enough . We’ve already loss 3 kpop idols due to suicide. And always keep praying in hopes we don’t lose anyone else . They also tackle following your dreams , motivation , women empowerment, anxiety, government oppression, corrupt academic system that needs change , never giving up , etc . For me , I love them because not just their versatile in genre but also they help take ASIAN REPRESENTATION to whole new level . You don’t see many Asians blowing up on a award show level in music these days . Plus in Media people only look at Asians as weak nerds or Asian girls will be sexualized and have a lead role pair off with a non Asian ( usually white men ) and being fetish by whites due to “yellow fever “ . Growing up in CALI , i didn’t know that what Asians are going through . But I guess it’s because of social media you see them differently compared to tv shows/ movies. But BTS became a huge inspiration for me . Learning to love myself , accept and realize everyone has flaws , everyone will never be perfect .

This is why we go hard on our own, the mainstream media narrative 'boyband' this is why, but when you realised how diverse the fans are then you know this is not a boyband thing. Even when they performed live in mainstream media they arrange the younger fans to be at the front just to fit their narrative

Depending on your style of music, BTS have a plethora if music that you could listen to. Hip hop: Cypher 1-4, Outro: Tear, Mic Drop EDM: I'm Fine, So What, Outro: Tear R&B/Slow Jam: Singularity, House of Cards, Hold Me Tight Pop: Boy With Luv, Save Me, Run Ballad/Slow Rock: Spring Day, Butterfly, Truth Untold And much more!

Its what sets them apart for me. From the get-go they've been about making a difference and helping people and have NEVER shied away from it. And now with this current Connect project they have going onto promote art, they are always exposing us to new and amazing things. Even to basing some of their music/albums off of books. Like wings being linked to Demian and the Map of the Soul being linked to Carl Jungs psychology book "The Map of the Soul" There are so many references and wordplay in their music, the more you dig into it the more you love it.

Just found your channel because of the BTS reaction. They are absolutely amazing, and you’re absolutely right. A lot of western media especially get lazy, and I also feel like they try to protect the western interests by failing to go deeper into the story. I don’t know how much of it is intentional, but sometimes it feels like the financial interests of US companies, the music industry, media in general, and those in power try to portray the group as appealing only to teenagers and being nothing more than a momentary fad in an attempt to dismiss the reality of their appeal.....in hopes they will fade away and not take any more of the market shares...... they are amazing human beings, intelligent, crazy work ethic, talented.... and goofy as heck..... and wonderfully human and humble. They just resonate with you. Their music, their personalities, their values and hard work. When you go deeper into what makes BTS BTS, you can't help but root for them, because they are genuinely good people who worked their ass to make something out of themselves, and in the way didn't became jaded, arrogant. It is such a pure and rare thing that you wanna protect it. And their music is always reflect them, their life, their thoughts so well you drawn to their message and relate to it and take it straight to your heart. My youth is painted with BTS songs and spirit in the background. That is why i always gonna be BTS fan no matter how old i'm gonna get. Now i'm 33. they went trough so much and they were always there for each other, example jin's family is actually very wealthy but he left the wealth and comfort and stayed in a small room with 7 boys, practicing for more than 17 hours a day to reach his dreams. he used his allowances too feed other boys and even stole his mom's kitchen utensils to cook for others, it was just an example they are more than a group they are a family :D

I'm 46 and I love BTS. My 15 year old daughter has been a kpop fan for a few years and drug me in almost kicking and screaming but I'm so glad she did. We went to the BTS concert last year at MetLife Stadium. It was one of the beat night of our lives. We sat in the nosebleeds but that couldnt stop our joy. It was absolutely amazing. Thank you for giving our boys a chance. .#BTS4AllAges #BTSARMY

You will be amazed at how many charities are voluntarily organized by Armys all over the world because of BTS. From donating rice, planting trees and creating forests, donating to schools, to adopting animals. These are projects that Armys come up with on their own. Even here in the US, some Armys have organized food collection boxes outside their concert to donate.

I have watched the video like several times but it still make me teary eyed. What's the best of BTS is that they remain humble and would rather spend their time with their fans rather than try to impress the so could elite people in society. That's the reason why they are loved by ARMY cause they strive and continue to work hard for their fans.

When you become an ARMY, it's never just because of their music or their performances. We learn to love the boys because of who they are and what they represent. In our eyes, they are the best looking group of boys because they are beautiful people inside-out, every single one of them. Their songs are our favorites because they're sincere and relatable and that comforts us. We spend money to see them in concerts because we know they will give us a spectacular show, always performing like there's no tomorrow. BTS is no boyband, BTS is a movement, a movement we believe in, a movement we support, a movement we promote, a movement that has changed our lives and made us better versions of ourselves. That is why once you become a true ARMY, you're ARMY for life.💜

EXACTLY THANK YOU. western media and gatekeepers who want to push kpop as the Korean wave keep downplaying bts message and hiw different bts are compared to other kpop groups and artists in general. they dont want bts to be recognized for their messages they just say social media large fandom and kpop is there success if that was the case why are they the ONLY group? what about the others before or current groups now? Korean wave is a important thing representation matters but dont downplay the group thats paving the way as a fad. this is why army make the clear distinction between bts and kpop if people would give credit to bts and let go of stereotypes we wouldnt mind calling bts kpop but because they dont we make it clear how different bts is. the kpop industry never wanted bts to succeed. and kpop community never liked bts or army but now everyone wants to say theyre on bts level to get ahead while talking trash about bts in the next breath. so bts isnt kpop and theyre bigger than just a boyband :)

Yes ..specially the western media..they tend to brush off BTS..I'm 66 year old ARMY..I introduced BTS to my 36 year old daughter and nieces in their 30s..my grandchildren and teenage nieces..they are avid fan of BTS..I started following them since later part of 2013..i saw how they were treated by tv stations cause they were not popular yet..i cried when one tv host treated Jungkook so badly..how they cut off their performance..but they excelled and conquer it all..so bittersweet..I love them so much..

I’m a 59 yr young woman who has lived and breathed music since I was born. I have NEVER seen any other group who can compare to BTS, not only in their beautiful and poignant songs, incredible dance skills, and utterly lit visuals! Their insane philanthropy to so many wonderful causes and their love for all their fans is beautiful to behold! They are #1 in over 70 countries. I’m so grateful for them. They are getting me through the most traumatic experiences in my life and have lifted me from thoughts of suicide to learning to love myself!

Ive been a fan of BTS for more or less about a year and this is the first time ive watched from nobodies to legends and i legit cried. I've been a kpop fan for about a decade though. I was hesistant to educate myself about BTS even when they were already gaining popularity bec of bad publicity like "they have toxic fans" "theyre overrated" etc. But boy am I glad for that one day that I finally ignored those negative things and started listening to BTS because stanning them has helped me through the worst days of 2019. And its not just about the entertainment aspect they provide. Its about- yes, the message. To watch and listen to these boys, who keep telling fans to love and improve themselves, didnt just distract me from my problems, but helped me reflect and think positively despite the things happening in my life. I'm glad you got to know them better through this video and we appreciate you for appreciating the boys . 💜

Hi my name is Tamesha and as I am writing I am full on in tears. I am from the Caribbean, namely my beautiful home Barbados. If it wasn't for our own Idol Rihanna we would not have been known for anything.I have been an ARMY from 2014,I am now 35 going on 36 in October and I understand fully the hardships they went through, even now I still try to introduce people to them and the first thing that comes to mind for them is that they're not speaking english or how could you like them they look like girls instead of trying to see, hear or even understand they just ridicule them straight off the bat without trying to know them. They have helped me through so much with their songs and just with they're presence in life. I love them soooooooo much it can't be described. I have always wanted to learn another language but because in the Caribbean French or Spanish would have been preferred being it is spoken in some of the other countries in this chain , but now I am trying to teach myself Korean because of they're influence, it is quite hard but I am FIGHTING. I hope many other people see them the way the rest of us do. Once again I love you BTS to the moon and back💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

something that i think new fans don’t understand about the plagiarismboys hashtag and why it being included in the WINGS FINAL CONCERT VCR was so devastating: when the hashtag trended number one, fans were devastated because they couldn’t stop it from trending nor could they trend a lovely hashtag higher to counter it. but the one thing people were hoping for was that maybe bts didn’t see it personally, maybe bighit had monitored social media and told bts to stay off social media and they didn’t have to see the hate on such a special night. but years later, during the wings final concert, this vcr showed that bts had indeed saw it and it affected them hugely. everyone was so devastated to find out they had seen it, and it had affected them so much. but it was also admirable to see that they had overcome it and had continued past it. but finding out they had known all this time about the hashtag that had ruined a special event was so fvxking sad. god, the wings final concert was devastating in so many ways. the wings era ending, the speeches the boys gave that brought everyone to tears, and that VCR that showed how they struggled so much. it was really devastating.

That was such a great reaction! You got a new subscriber! I hope you'll check out more of their music. I think it will surprise you! I recommend BTS' latest comeback trailer: Shadow. It's a solo by one of the rappers. They also have a single dropping thursday (we don't know the name yet but we know it features a modern dance group and they're always just so artistic!). Please do BTS' contribution to music by the same channel (XCeleste). It talks about their achievements but also what their role in making the music is. They are very DIY. They have a lot of creative control which makes them unique in the industry and is part of the reason for their success. They've said many times that they want to be remembered for their sincerity. You can feel that in their artistry.

As our leader RM said "Music transcends language" so as their message to all of us. They truly are inspiring! Also, you said their music is good and it is. The message they have always resonated to anyone who would give them the chance has been life changing for so many people. Even though they are now the most successful group in the world, they are humble, gentle talented young men who just want to share their amazing talent with us. I hope you continue your journey to get to know them more. They are not your typical western boy band. So far from that. They changed my life and for that I will be eternally grateful. I honestly don’t think I would be here today if I had not found them when they debuted. I can’t imagine my life without them. And no I am not a teenage girl, I am a mum in my 50’s, but their message is not defined by age or gender. Thankyou for giving them a chance. You won’t regret it.
