    I think it's a fun song and that it does a good job at making people happy. But yes, it's not a song I would preach about because of it's deep lyrics or mind blowing original production, but it doesn't matter because it was not meant to be that way. I am very happy they release this, I am proud of them, and I am looking forward to their next releases, regardless of what language they choose to use. Also, I would rather them being nominated to a Grammy because of mots7 than this, they took part in creating mots 7 and it's more personal.

    I absolutely agree with you. A fun song but definitely not something I would say shows their, let's say, ""actual"" talent (that is not the word I want to use but I can't think of a more fitting one atm). What I usually notice is that ARMY in general tend to say that everything is a MASTERPIECE just because it's them doing it and I see no objective judgement whatsoever. This is me just making assumptions, but I don't think SOME (mayhaps most?) people that say this is the 'Song of the year' would say the same thing had it been done by other artists, which I get: BTS adds their own 'flavour' to it, but even taking that into account, I wouldn't categorize it as SOTY. It IS fun and cheerful but I don't think it is something we haven't heard before in music, maybe that's just me thinking of the title SOTY as more important than it is or as having standards that it actually doesn't have? Idk. I think other songs of theirs are WAY more representative of what they are capable of and why they are such a great group and, of course, I think they are better songs, we are talking about SOTY after all. Of course, this is all my personal opinion.

  • @ecmcm5363

    @ecmcm5363

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@ThisisVP if you are talking about Korean shows soty, then they have specified criteria to decide for the song, and dynamite has all the numbers in that criteria, so I do think they are going to win. Wether they deserve it or not... every artist "deserves" it, but they fairest way to decide is to actually specify the criteria and follow it, rather than "I like it so bop, I don't so flop". I think armys are pretty good at having critic thinking, obviously there are exceptions in everything, but I think all armys agree that this is a fun song that can bring more visibility to bts in US so we should support it. Most armys I have seen want mots7 to be nominated to the Grammys because of "quality" and because bts worked on it personally; also most armys praise more black swan and on, but the great thing about being an army, is that you can praise and enjoy all releases, the super original ones and the most commercial ones, without having to worry about the quality of the next release, because bts loves music, and they love to create it, experiment with it and release it (very frequently ).

  • @ThisisVP

    @ThisisVP

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@ecmcm5363 I am not talking about the shows' criteria, maybe I didn't word that correctly, I was talking about people (not the ones that hold the shows) I've seen saying it should be SOTY with the criteria you mention: I like it -> SOTY. From what you say, I then assume that we see/follow different people (in my case, I use Twitter) because the ones I've seen, while they DO support everything they release, I think they have given EXTRA support or expressed extra liking for Dynamite. It may have to do with how this is an opportunity for them to gain more visibility in the US as you mention, maybe that is it.

    you know, i don't like this idea that you HAVE to be positive when you react to something. if it's not your genuine reaction, if it's "positive reacts only," then it's not really a reaction it's a circlejerk. if i wanted to circlejerk about how awesome BTS is i can do that with the rest of ARMY on twitter or reddit, if i watch a reaction it's because i want to know what that person REALLY THINKS. of course it's nice if they genuinely love it, but if they're like "ehh, this part fell flat, this transition was awkward, they sounded like they were holding back" i want to know that too. BTS will never be able to know where they have room to grow and draw in more fans if no one ever says what they don't like about a song because "the fans want positive reactions."

    I couldn't agree more. The sad thing is though, that this channel will get hate for any perceived criticism. Because sadly there are like 5% comprised of easily offended ARMY and fake ARMY delulus who just love to spread hate and would be waiting to jump on the bandwagon to hate on this channel for their criticism. Even though it is a small percentage, they would probably be pretty loud. I guess if they want to avoid receiving hate because they can't or don't want to deal with it, it is their choice. But yeah, I would like to watch negative reactions as well. As long as it is constructive or well explained criticism I think it is beneficial for everyone to hear it.

    Yeah I couldn't agree more. I find it perfectly okay if they are just analyzing the songs and videos for us, without the need to always be impressed by and super fond of the songs. For me, it's okay if they are critical of a song that I love, or a song by an artist that I love. Even for my fav groups, there are some of their songs which I have problems with. But I can understand why they never react negatively to any song, because some fans are sensitive af and will be offended by the simple fact that people have different tastes and opinions.

We’ll do everything, we’ll try. But if we couldn’t get number one or number five, that’s okay.” So I guess they lost their identity and all they care about is charting

    @@vb8988 lmao u must be a child if u believe bts really released an Eng pop song for internationl fans. Thats why they released like 7 diff versions, vinyls, made each song 69 cents, etc just so they can get Hot 100. If u don't believe me read Forbes article on BTS's marketing strategies. "When “Dynamite” was first released, BTS didn’t just post the track to download stores like iTunes and Amazon , they offered two different editions. Most casual listeners who simply enjoy the catchy cut opted to buy only the regular take on the single, but the South Korean band’s true fans are known to go the extra mile for them, and the septet wasted no time giving them the chance to up the track’s first-week sales count." "In an effort to encourage their fans to buy not just one, but all four versions of “Dynamite,” BTS offered all of them at the low price of just $0.69 in the U.S. It’s not uncommon for stars to discount their latest releases, as it is a proven method to up the first-frame sales count, and the South Korean band did everything they could to improve that sum as much as possible." www.forbes.com/sites/hughmcintyre/2020/08/28/a-look-at-btss-sales-strategy-can-it-propel-dynamite-to-no-1-on-the-hot-100/#5c35412b66e1

I’m starting to think that you don’t care about the language part and you’re just mad that they got number 1 on hot 100 lmao. I hope they release more versions of it to get people like you more pressed💆‍♀️

    It's a simple, yet fun song, that makes you want to dance. And I've seen many people getting down to it and they don't even know what Kpop or a BTS is even. This is a song that we just haven't gotten from a US or EU artist in a minute. And during the persistent bleak times, we can all use an opportunity to glow up a little.

Kevin pointing out the similar notes, from other songs such as KC and the Sunshine Band and that it was from the song that was apart of Kingsman movie. Which the guys have mentioned in the past loving Kingsman. Everything old is new again. DIsco, 70's & 80's pop vibe is making a comeback with a twist. Those eras was about feeling good. We need that right now out in the world.
