I honestly don’t think that BTS is anything like 1D. They are completely different in style, personalities, dancing, and singing. Honestly BTS is better than 1D.

The BTS boys aren't all the same they have names which is Rap Monster, V, Jimin, Jungkook, Suga, J-Hope, and Jin, and the fandom name is ARMY.

Why is seven members so much? Like one direction had 5 members two more wouldn't make a difference ... and obviously they don't look the same .. and with the dumb question why do they dye their hair hm idk because they want to like why is your hair long? And to the girl asking why they point their wrist like come on b common sense maybe because their DNA!!! They are literally saying it!! And honestly I'm shocked that people don't know that in the entertainment Industry they wear makeup like come on it's so obvious they even photoshop them!!! Omg, I know. I'm still having trouble with four of them. I can identify Rap Monster right away, and I can kinda pick out Jimin and Suga if you give me a moment, but I still can't connect names to faces for Jin, V, J-Hope, and Jungkook.

Nope, their skin are good, but they are just like ours, with a lot of imperfections, you can easily see on the videos on the internet where they have no makeup, they are really different from the videos, they aren`t even close to be as pretty, but they are naturally pretty, but far, from flawless, that can easily be said about everyone in the world tho, but that is that saying, make up will make even the most ugly person in the world, a beatiful person.

Ya but one direction are very different from BTS. they have 7 members and 1D had 5. They can't dance like BTS. And the style is completely different. Ya they all sing but that's a boy band thing. Besides the singing part I see nothing similar to 1D and BTS sorry to say.

Your Name its human. Its called assosiation. When you see something new and got familiar interpretasion, you associate it to something you know in your memory that to you is the closest. To many people in america, 1D is "the boyband". So i dont blame them. As for "they all looked the same" its normal too for something not familar, "yet" 😏. I too have difficulties differentiate caucasians that i dont familiar with. Its a a matter of perspective in which can change as you got stimuli more and more.

They seem to focus on the music video, so I think they'd have a fun time with K.Will's Please Don't. Or I think it'd be interesting to show them your personal favorite kpop or khip-hop songs.

Of course I'm not surprised that your friends thought they all might look like the same person, I thought that way the first time I was exposed to Kpop and many people think that way, too, and this kind of MV brings out that kind of reaction from non-Kpop fans, typically, in my opinion, because I think it's more of an abstract concept with DNA and not really a concept you really have a solidified object to show besides yourself and DNA molecules. Just my thoughts, though! You should bring up the English translations, Josh! They almost always have English translations in the videos! Maybe that'll help them understand the meaning more. I hope you get them to react to more songs and hopefully they'll get into it more! Definitely show them BTS's Mic Drop Steve Aoki remix because I'm feeling that right now, LOL. I'd love to see your friends react to "older" Kpop songs from other groups like Big Bang. (P.S. To answer their question: DNA stands for deoxyribonucleic acid :D)
