You need to watch Attack on Bangtan live in Japan. They went crazy. And that raspy voice you heard from Jimin is nothing compared to what he did with "we are bulletproof pt. 2" live. I was even scared thinking he was gonna lose his voice.

Paldogangsan is all about dialects so they're actually singing in all their own different dialects and acting as if they don't understand each other. It's a really fun song. 😂

Paldogangsan is such a clever song! The BTS members come from all different parts of South Korea that are known for having different "satoori," or dialects/accents, so this song has them all bragging about how their hometown/dialect is the best, while pretending like they can't understand each other, lol. Jin and RM are from areas in/around Seoul, so they basically speak "standard" Korean (which the others did their best to adopt after moving to Seoul as well.) J hope is unique, he is from Gwangju so he has a jeolla dialect, which is considered to be "friendly" sounding. V and Suga are both from Daegu, and Jimin and Jungkook are the Busan bros. Daegu and Busan have their own slang of course but the accents are similar, since they are in the north and south parts of the Gyeongsang region, respectively. They are known for sounding tough or aggressive--especially the Busan dialect. It's so interesting hearing their native satoori slip out at times... Jimin especially, dropping into aggressive Busan satoori when he's agitated will never not be funny to me, cause it just doesn't fit that angelic face imo. 🤣

Would you be willing to provide links or give names of show episodes for examples of when Jimin does this? Since I don't speak Korean I wouldn't know; or of any other videos of any of the members using their native dialect? Thank you ... and if nothing specific comes to mind, no worries. I am just curious.

@@donitapolk9413 well, the SugArmyy channel has a really good compilation of examples! It's a video called "jimin' s busan satoori (dialect) jumping out | don't make the busan boy angry" I'll put a link in the comment below, but youtube always deletes my comments with links, so if you don't see it, you'll have to search I'm afraid. 😅 It should be easy to find though, it's a very popular video.

As for who gets more parts, they have always said that it depends on the songs and that it is not a problem for them that one has more than the other because that is what the song requires. At that time, JK was the one who had the best command of the parts. vocals that is why from the beginning they named him main vocal, now in the present we see that everyone improved and every day they continue to improve their vocals they always support each other

I know most ARMY get upset that V, Jin, Jimin didn't get a lot of parts in the beginning but we forget that they had to learn to sing from scratch so they probably themselves weren't confident or they weren't able to. They certainly have come a long way and were able to find their own colours. All are great singers. And of course they've told us they decide who fits certain parts better, so it was their decision at the end of the day. I also personally believe that JK is the main vocalist because he is the most technical among them. I'm so proud of all of them

Watching "Paldogangsan explained by a Korean" helped me out a lot with understanding things better and reading Doolset Lyrics. It's really cool because they were promoting hometown Satoori in a rap battle-like type song. I'm sure there is even more cultural context that I'm missing but when you come up to Seoul to be an Idol the way the industry works is you need to speak Standard Korean or Seoul dialect so you have to work hard to lose your country boy accent so to speak. But I think it might be a bit more complex for us as outsiders to understand how to compare, it might be more comparable to say it's like having someone from the USA, Britain, Canada, Australia, & New Zealand etc sit down at a table to talk. We all speak English but there are words that mean very different things etc. Attack on Bangtan is just super fun, that song was made to be heard live.

Coffee is a well loved deep cut. It’s ridiculous that 15yo Jungkook was that damn good at adlibs. It’s such a sweet fun song. Attack on Bangtan and Paldogangsan are both on my “hype myself up” playlist. Two if my absolute favorites. They get damn frisky/hyper/chaotic on stage for both. The over exaggerating of their regional accents and bickering who has the best accent is the best. Many of them but especially Jimin was bullied when he moved to Seoul for his thick Busan accent. As is the BTS before debut they write a short version of this to take something people might look down at them for and being proud of it. It’s a fantastic song but that leaps it to quintessential BTS for me. They will take a “weakness” they are mocked for a make it a strength/hit song. Like Idol. Glad you are feeling better no worries!

I'm very late on this one but just in case no one has told you, Paldogangsan is also called Satoori Rap. That's probably a lot easier for you to pronounce. Satoori literally means "regional dialect". It's kind of like how some slang can be specific to certain regions in the US. With Korean, different regions will abbreviate common phrases used in that area and even native Koreans from other regions can have difficulty figuring out what they mean.

Just an FYI - Attack on Bangtan Color coded lyrics is a bit iff - it didn't show or showed the color code for Tae's parts. Live in Japan is a definitley a must see! BTS gave Tae the freedom to choose the choreo for the Lalala part. So whenever they sang that live in theor concerts Tae always changes the choreo for them to copy - which is hilarious!

The good news is that in the earlier BTS albums, their Outros were a hint to the style & theme of the next album which in this case will be Skool Luv Affair.
