The group has said video is about the temptation. There is much lore about when you make a deal with the devil you seal it with a kiss so many believe that 'V' (the blonde) represented Lucifer/temptation and Jin kissing the statue with black wings was him making a deal with him. Though that's just one theory, there are a lot out there haha Great reaction :)

The theory is (incoming long ass explanation) So Jin (pink hair dude) plays a normal man named Sinclair, V (blonde one with bruises on his back) plays the devil, the singed statue was named Demian; devil's son. So the story is when the Devil got too obsessed with greed he wanted more, and because of that god clipped off his wings and V fell into hell (that's why he has a bruise on his back to represent the clipped wings) Jin was a normal man who was committing the 7th deadliest sin, having pride, he wanted to be powerful too. When Jin kissed the statue or the devil's son, he basically accepted the darkness. When Jesus was alive, anyone who had anything to do with him like just even passed him on the road cried tears of blood. So after Jin kissed the statue Jimin was crying "green" tears or in other words blood, and so was Demian. All the BTS members were suffering because of Jin. At the end, Jin looked at a flower named Narcissus which represented narcissim or loving yourself. Jin cried a tear regretting everything he did. When those statue faces shattered they were religious statues and that represented the fact that god couldnt help Jin anymore. So in the beginning was a painting of Heaven and Hell fighting and that's why he was so interested. In the end, to sum it up, Jin gave up so much just because of his greed and let the darkness seep through him.

I love seeing how confused people get when it gets to where the screen turns red haha its so funny. oh and the meaning of the video is waaaaaayyy deeper than the love for art its a really interesting story even if you're not a kpop fan or a fan of bts the whole story is just really interesting and their music videos are always really well made especially BS&T

YYYEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSS *EDIT:* this is actually a continuation to a storyline that BTS has been doing for the past two years through music videos and short films! we originally believed it to be about Jin(pink haired one who kissed the statue) where he was either the only one alive or dead. (depending on how you interpreted the first music video to this storyline.) but recently, seven short films were released and led us to believe/confirm that the story was also based off of the book "Demian" by Hermann Hesse, as well as their own story thrown into the mix. we have now come up with theories after reading "Demian" concluding that Jin is the only real one and has six alter egos(the other members). while this wasn't proven incorrect, nothing was confirmed in this mv, so it made us a bit more confused. tl;dr: this is apart of a story that BTS has been doing for two years that has fueled tons of theories (all of which have not been confirmed at all) and we're all pretty confused, not just you! :')

My strange little theory is that this is all about homosexuality. Homosexuality is considered bad or evil in Korea. Hence the phrase "boy meets evil". SUGA talks about a secret kiss that they shouldn't know about which would probably represent gay love being hidden from everyone or closeted. Then towards the end we see Jin kiss the statue which is clearly of a male angel that had fallen(black wings) because heaven wouldn't allow gay or evil beings. The statues cries the rainbow colored tears and then we switch to a scene of only Jimin crying those same tears so the statue and Jimin are linked. Finally all the way at the end we see Jin's skin crack as he reveals his true self..or for lack of better term comes out of the closet. Also while yes the statues wings belong to taehyung it seems more possible to me that the statue is more linked to Jimin only by a little bit.

I have an idea of what the mv could be about. This was from someone else who made a video of his/her theory of this mv. So Jin is the main character. And the painting he was looking at was a war between heaven and hell. Jin is the only one who was able to notice that something isn't right, that the rest of the members are facing a problem, which is temptation. In the Wings album, there were different songs that told the story and problem of each member, which is all tied to this mv. The scene where they were lifting their cups; that scene had apples on each of their plate. Apples are also known as the forbidden fruit and represents temptation. However, after Jin raised his cup, he paused and looked behind him. He's hesitating because he feels like something isn't right. You can even see one of the members holding an apple and sitting in front of another member, who was holding a blindfold in one of the scenes. The hands and the blindfold covering Jimin's eyes represent the members and Jin being blinded by temptation. The hands begin to move away one by one, meaning Jin is slowly discovering the truth. The monologue Jin was saying in English, meant that he didn't want to be part of the world his friends are going to, "the evil world of which I no longer want to be part of." However, V (the one who jumped off) is a problem. The theory states that he's actually dead. V wanted the other members to join him on the other side. So when the other members were leaving the museum, V looked back and saw Jin hesitating. Knowing that Jin was starting to gain his senses back, V covered his eyes (blinding Jin with temptation again), and Jin saw the devil. He kissed it. Kissing the devil is a form of making a deal with the devil. He soon realized his mistake but it was too late. Everything went downhill. Jin, unable to turn back, is left to suffer on his own, which was why he was alone in the end with a crack on his face. If you read this whole thing, CONGRATZ! One theory is that all the members besides V(the blonde one) are different parts of Jin(the one who kissed the statue) and they've matured(accepted the reality) and it was Jin's turn to mature. He matured when he kissed the statue(V). In a book the short stories have been based on, Demian and Sinclair kiss, and Jin and V represent Demian and Sinclair. I haven't watched a theory for this in a while, so I'm not sure who's Demian and who's Sinclair.

This could mean that this is what Jin is thinking in his head at the time, he knows it's wrong but he wants to stay with his friends. Yoongi enters in a bike and in FIRE MV, Jungkook was riding on the bike as he was looking in at a sin (the hooded figure) in this clip he is beginning to be tempted. In the story Adam and Eve, they are tempted by an apple, the members are all seated at a tables, with Jin at the head, on their plates is a single apple and Jin appears to be making a toast of some kind. They are shown in an almost relaxed and calm state, as if they have made up their minds. Jimin is then seen with an apple (temptation) and Yoongi with a blindfold, Jimin is about to cover his eyes and make himself blind to what is right. V is then shown in a balcony, and with a smile he jumps. Here V represents the driving force for their temptation. Many religious believers say that any wrongdoing done by people is the use of an evil force- the devil, the devil is a fallen angel, hence why V is constantly falling. This also links to the painting from the beginning. *Hold that thought* Jin is also shown with hands covering his eyes but they slowly go as he realises what is happening to his friends, he is slowly coming to his senses about what is happening. This is also prominent in the RUN MV while others are running wild and he is almost separate. In I NEED U, V is shown doing the most damage; killing his father, he is then seen killing himself (by FALLING) as the members look on. Now, V is dead and he is tempting the members to follow him and commit the utmost sin, he wants them to kill themselves, too. Then, there is a narration, it shows Jin's inner monologue It says 'he too was a tempter' (Talking of V) 'He too was a link to the second, the evil world which I no longer wanted anything to have to do'. He talks to an 'evil world' the boys are being lead to, that he no longer wants to be apart of. It cuts then, to Suga playing the piano, in the wings teaser, he is also seen playing the piano. It is this that snaps Jin out of his trance; he remembers his old friend, and knows that Suga is no longer himself; he has been corrupted by sin. V then smiles, walking up behind and covering Jin's eyes himself. What Jin see's is a statue. It has wings like an angel, but they are black, the Angel is fallen, corrupted- he represents V. *Now- this is the interesting part* Jin kissed the devil. Now, traditionally this is how you would make a deal with the devil. At this point, everything is shown to go into chaos. Jimin takes his blindfold off. This means the 'spell' has worn off and he understands what they have done. Jin is seen looking up at a scripture in German and it says 'One must still have chaos in itself, to be able to give birth to a dancing star'. At the end, it cuts to Jin. He is staring at the same lilies which follow him throughout the whole universe, they represent friendship and devotion, and in Jin's case, his members. He then looks to himself and a small crack appears on his face, he is 'falling apart' without them. Whatever deal Jin made with V, it means he has to be apart from his friends, it could be that he has taken their suffering upon himself. In the song there are some interesting lyrics- 'take it all', 'your wings are the devils', 'I can't even escape anymore

So, BTS has been basing their concepts and Album messages on Youth and now becoming adults. There is a book called Demian that they've been quoting from (all the narration parts) that has the story of a youthful boy named Sinclair who journeys to adulthood with the help of the character Demian. BTS has taken a lot of the books' elements and incorporated it into their song messages and MV's/short films. It goes all the way back to the beginning, but especially in their Most Beautiful Moments in Life albums.
